Benchmarks to follow over weekend!!!

That's about what my old setup was...Pentium 4 2.4C @ 3.06GHz. I still haven't overclocked my new Athlon64 3200+ yet. My Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu should easily let me get up to 2.2GHz :p

Please update with benches when you get a chance.

I can tell you this N4S4.... Dug (anandtech member) has almost identical system up and running and he can get 275 fsb with 5:4 divider... I cannot. But benchmarks to follow this weekend regardless. He gets like 50K somethin' auqa mark and 6.4 3dmark . One thing is for sure....we definatly need to compare notes on this Monday.

I'm not @ home but I think 3-8-4-4 which I'm not entirely impressed with.... and I cannot seem to run it 1:1 @ 266 fsb.... also bug in mobo bios won't let me give the stuff more than 2.8 volts when I know some guys are runnin' modded bios with 3.2 volts going to the ram.... so I'm stymied (sp)

2GB of Corsair XMS PC4000 and Sapphire ultimate?

GOOD GAWD THATS ALOT OF $$$$ SPENT!:D

$400 per 1GB x 2 = $800 on RAM:Q

$800 + $450 for the Video card = $1250 alone on video and RAM.:)

Yep, I noticed that as well, flkoster, with my dual Raptors on my old IC7. It loads equally as fast on my new K8T800 board. When I first saw how fast Windows XP installed on the Raptors, my jaw hit the floor.

RAPTORS ROCK!!!:D

I used 128k on the Abt IC7 (ICH5-R). The little BIOS thing for the RAID said that 128k was for the best performance.

I use 64k on my FIC K8-800T (VIA K8T800) board; that is as high as it will let me go. The SATA RAID controller is built into the VIA 8237 southbridge just like with ICH5 so it is free of the PCI bus.

Now I have to buy some Raptors. My addiction for speed is killing me. (and my bank account)

BTW NFS4, why are you using a higher stripe size?

If you can return it, Newegg has:

Mushkin 1GB PC 3500 Level 2 Dual Pack (2x512MB) CAS2-2-2 Black, Part# 991098 - Retail for $289

This memory will do better timings than the Corsair you have and is cheaper to boot!

This is what I like to hear. Sometimes subjective impressions can be more valuable than a whole book of benchmarks. (though benchmarks have their place too).

And is far far slower? What a great idea! You should return the superior memory quickly! :p

Nebor, An just how again is 2-2-2-6 memory slower than 3-4-4-8??? Please do tell.

You should educate yourself a little before making posts like that. You dont believe that PC4000 with the ultra lame timings is faster than PC3500 with tight timings do you? (Hint). Its not.

Makes me feel better about getting the max2 instead of the max3 and getting 3200 instead of higher priced 3500-4000. Spent that extra money on a 2.8C.
