Unnatural "ideal body images" go both ways.

- M4H

technically, yes.
but dont think its nearly as hard to be an overweight man as it is to be an overweight women (at least, from my experience) women are judged much more quickly and frequently on their looks.

furthermore, there is a lot less presure on guys to be "the right image" than girls. take fat guys for example, you see them everywhere on tv and in movies and they aren't rediculed the same way fat female actresses are. ie) rosie, roseanne, missy elliot

Well, generally because the fat male actors don't flaunt it. Take a look at most big guy actors - they frankly don't give a crap whether or not they're fat, balding, or not as attractive as their co-stars. Now compare them to Queen Latifah, Missy Elliot - and whammo, instant In Your Face attitude. I'm Fat And You'd Better Love Me For It, Or Else You're A Superficial Chauvanist PIG. :disgust:

i have been thin and fat and back again so many times i can't even count now. i go to the gym everyday and watch what i eat and i'm sorry if i'm not anaroxic thin but this is just the way i am. I HAVE BREASTS that are a d cup, thers nothing i can do about it (believe me i have tried). i am so sick of hearing all over that my breasts are too large to be the ideal natlie portman or jennifer love hewitt type. i will never be that thin as hard as i try, my bone structure is just too large for it. i have hips and an ass. i may not be happy about it but there really isnt much more i can do about it than i do.

I really hope that you don't think you have to be anorexic thin to be attractive. And for the record, "your breasts are too big" is grounds for revokaction of Man Card. Do kick the next guy who says that right in his nonexistant junk. The last thing I'd want to get into bed with is a girl I'd be afraid of breaking in two.

if someone is happy with their bodies just ACCEPT IT. its none of your damn business how much weight they've gained or lost. nobody is asking you to like that body type, just RESPECT thats the way they are and move on. it doesn't effect you any!

Hey, if someone is happy with their body, that's all fine and dandy - just don't say that I'm messed up for not feeling the same way about things.

Thank You :p, those guy's would like to be fvcked by you actually

I think telling what other people to do is fvcked personally. Unless it is dangerous to their health then I can see a reason.

If a woman is overweight by 30-50lbs it isn't 'so' bad but not exactly healthy either. Especially when it nearer the 50lb side.

Women can look how ever they like. As long as they are happy that is cool. It is how they feel and not how I feel about looking at them. Guys you can always turn away or ignore ir you know.

As for the OP off that woman I'd say she is on the fat side personally (like she gives a sh!t about my opinion lol). She could lose some weight, a solid 20-30lbs or so, not so sure from those pics. But would it make her 'happy'? I'd bet your ass it would probably make her happy to be 30lbs lighter *in the right places*. But can she be bothered? Probably not. She likes her food and her free time to look after her children or what not. And would rather do that then spend the time in a gym working out instead.

People on here like to spend a lot of time on the pc doing stuff on forums etc. I like to spend my time training. I train 11hrs+ a week. I 'could' do more but I also like to spend my time doing other stuff apart from training. We all set our limits to what we do. Training and competiting makes me happy. Others looking after children, reading books, being on the pc etc.

And as for everyone saying people here do not look good I'd say a fair amount of the guys here are in shape and do a lot of training (skoorb, conjur, entity, Fasuto1, Riprion, briggs, Amused and a bunch of other guys).

What's with this thing about "real" women have curves anyways?

you never hear men say crap like "real" men have muscles...so why do women still hate on each other?

Because "real" men don't sweat the small stuff while most women are insecure little girls that they have to make other women feel bad about themselves. And you wonder why women still whine about equality? This is why, if all women would get it together and stop "hating" on each other, there wouldn't be such a thing as gender inequality.

/end male chauvinist statement :p

Uhhhh... if I'm reading "internet sarcasm" in that; I can tell you for a fact that eakers is a she (I've met her in person).

As to the thread:

Larger women not being your personal preference is fine. However, dissing/insulting/"I'd kick her to da curb" attitude is total immaturity and stupidity.

Obsession with self-image is literally killing women (and a surprising number of men) these days. While Hollywood takes the brunt of the blame, there is FAR more to blame on peer pressure - including the type of peer pressure people feel over the opinion of dozens of internet posters.

You incorrectly read internet sarcasm, I was being serious. I honestly forgot she was a woman. I assume most people on here are guys unless their name/avatar says otherwise.

There is NO way 135/5'3" is fat, in the real sense of the term (unhealthy/dangerous).

The trend and direction given to girls these days is that no matter what height or build they are, over 130 punds = 'gross cow'. THIS is dangerous.

A true healthy weight is below fat, but well above what so many here would "kik dat beeyach to da curb!".

Elita's roomate in university was 5' 11" and weighed 120 pounds. She starved herself because she was too fat. She gave up her heart medication because it increased her appetite.

My sister-in-law is 5' 8" and 130 and on a veggie-only diet to loose weight... because she's been told she's getting fat.

On the converse, we see women on "Jerry" weighing 480 and claiming its glandular. Less than 3% of all weight problems are glandular in reality.

People need to return to healthy. Muscle weighs more than fat. Pushing teenage girls to starve isn't the answer. And labelling weights like 135 as "fat" can only make that worse.

Your sister is 5'8 and 130lbs that is a pretty dam good weight imo. But 130lbs and 5'3 I'd say is chubby or she is either a pretty dam strong athlete. I never said chubby was bad. I'm just saying fat is bad. 50lbs overweight for any given height is bad in men or women.

That other girl is crazy. Not takind meds and she is thin thin that height.

*sigh* That is not what I believe though. I don't think anyone in this thread has said that over 130lbs = gross cow. Obviously the 5' 11" girl is underweight, the 5'8" is perfect weight. If anyone honestly thinks that the girl in RWHC is only 135, then you are wrong. If you think her weight is good for her height, you are also wrong. I don't see how there is any way around that. Again, who labeled 135 as fat?

That is because men don't give a sh!t what other random men say about them. Some do some don't. Men know that if your in shape and look good your changes of pulling a rottie ++.

You can not deny that 'most' women on average prefer a toned, lean guy then to a chubby or overweight guy. Sure you get some odd ones but on average they prefer tone and lean. Just the same way guys like tone and lean girls. Some don't and prefer chubby/overweight ones but on average that is not the case. Just natural......

If you can not look at the floor and see your feet you are OVERWEIGHT, exludes women with big boobies but you have space between them.

What's with all the crap about Queen Latifah? She's fat, but she DOES look good. And she has lost a lot of weight as well. I think she's a very sexy woman

Just hit the gym.

Go tot he website below and everyone can give you tips. But not everyone is a student and can fit 11hrs+ of training a week. I'd say a few hrs a week will do wonders in a few months time

I wouldn't saw Queen Latifah is sexy. But I would say Miss Eliot is cute though personally. She has a cute face to me. Others would say not or that she is too overweight or what not. But I to me she has a cute face and seems funky and nice from what little bits I can gather without knowing her :p

Depends entirely on how much muscle they have. You could have a very soft 6 footer at a bodyweight of 170, just as you could have a ripped one at 200 if he lifts a lot.

Anyway I think that since I look perfect everyone else should :)

I am 6' and 190lbs... yet I am fat (IMO). My 190lbs comes from 90% fat. On the other hand, I know a few of my friends are 6' and weigh MORE than me, but are cut to the max...

From Gene Weingarten ?

A few months ago, the medical establishment released a new Optimal Weight Chart, replacing the old system of height and weights with a more complex computation of body mass. This chart appears to have been drawn up by pissed-off feminists. Under the new criteria, perfectly healthy, normal men with slightly stocky bodies ? say, your average major-league catcher ? are computed to be overweight. Meanwhile, short women get a break. Madeleine Albright is not defined as fat even though she is built ? and I do not mean this unkindly ? exactly like a scoop of mashed potatoes.
I preferred the old-fashioned weight chart, and urge readers to stick with it:

Men

Small-Boned, Medium-Boned, Large-Boned
5?7? 125-190, 135-220, 140-250
5?8? 130-200, 140-240, 150-270
5?9? 135-220, 145-260, 160-290
over 140-230, 150-280, 170-390

Women

5?2? 95, 96, 97
5?3? 97, 98, 99
5?4? 99, 100, 101
over 100, 102, 104

Women

5?2? 95, 96, 97
5?3? 97, 98, 99
5?4? 99, 100, 101
over 100, 102, 104

What kind of fvcked up scale is that???

The scale for men is reasonable, but that one for women IS NOT!!!

I'm 6'3" and 230 lbs I have a substantial amount of muscle in my upper body, but I just don't get cut very easily. I may have a slight gut, but my Pecs are proportional so w/ a shirt on you really can't tell i have my little pooch. My wife thinks I'm fat, but she has also fallen for this retarded notion the anything above 12% bodyfat is "Fat". She thinks she's "fat" too, just because she can't fit into a size 0 anymore, when in reality her body rocks (5'3" 120-125, thin but beautifully proportioned and curved) I really wish she would develop a healthy self image, the constant "I'm fat, I need to lose 10 lbs" is getting really old

I think as you near age 30, your standards for your body (and others) change. You realize that you're probably not going to keep those 31" jeans. You're probably going to have a gut, one size or another. But as long as you're not completely bald, and your gut doesn't cover your belt buckle, you look OK. And maybe, you can accept that your significant other doesn't have to be Selma Hayek, because you're no Tom Cruise.
