Real is suck

even my stuff on vhs that has horrible quality is much much better then real. real is crap it uses mpeg 1 most bloated piece of junk next to wmv and asf format. sound quaality in real seem to be suffering from static as well.

No. If real dies, someone will come out with a good player that will play rm and ra files. The way they have centered their business plan around trickery and forcing itself into every nook and cranny of the OS shows how real they are... real scumbags.

I used to pull for them because they were the small guy against MS. Now I can't in good faith recommend that anyone ever try to download the software. Heaven help the person who goes by Real's "recommended" settings for downloading the software. Who in their right mind would pay $30 for the vaporware "plus" version of the player?

Anytime I see that stupid blue real icon in the taskbar, I cringe and think that real has infected another unsuspecting person with it's virus-like software.
 
If it wasn't for the fact that I have all episodes of South Park in RealMedia format I would delete that sucker quick as lightning. I thought getting the Plus version would get rid of the ads and stuff, but it is the same if not worse.

Also, when I got my Samsung Uproar cell phone - the mp3 cellphone for Sprint PCS - it comes with RealJukebox which is the only program you can use to upload mp3s to the phone. First time I used it was the first time my win2k crashed in the 3 months I had it on my computer. I use it sparingly now - what a pile.

Well, from a system admin pov, WMP is acceptable on our computers. Real is not. Anyone caught downloading Real player is subject to disciplinary action. 😀
