I signed up on the SSA.gov website before I was eligible for SS and downloaded my annual earnings report to keep a copy on my PC.
Yeah, when I was scoping out how retirement might look for me, I logged in to see what my projected payments would be at various ages.

The anypia program available for download on the SSA site is great for running scenarios.

This is not a new issue. I have had many friends get wrapped up in the same crap that is going on in this thread since later in 2024.

IDMe (https://www.id.me/) is a Private Company. Login.gov was jointly developed by 18F and the US Digital Service.

Login.gov (https://login.gov/) is a government made service that replaced Connect.gov login service.

See this thread:

Back in Sept 2024 I was told by a friend they are changing the system to require a Login.gov or an IDMe account to verify your identity to login was coming. So I tried setting up an IDMe account and got the upload a picture etc... run around which failed, and I said fuck that. Created a Login.gov account with no picture etc required easy as pie. and have been using it since with no issues.
Interesting..... I swear profusely and profanely and vulgarly whenever I try to log into any computer account because God hates me as much s I do. I must have a feeble brain but my real suspicion is that it's genetic and connected to the presence of creativity. I struggle with questions about this. If in fact I swear because of a feeble brain owing to hating my inferiority, what sense does it make to hate myself for it? Why not just eliminate that last step?

My bank is Huntington and they do early deposits for direct deposits so my SSDI hit my checking account today.
My bank begs me on it's bill pay to make them automatic. That how apps like Rocket make money, you not keeping tabs.
I got the early direct deposit available from our bank without a prompt or hard sell. Wife did also.

Tried to login to ssa.gov with my ID.me account this morning and I'm getting bounced around and this error message. It thinks I'm still logged in from yesterday when there were problems.

Worked fine for me, but to the elderly this would be a kick in the ass to try and get this working LOL. I've had mine setup for a while now.

My SSDI ach DD has hit my bank on the third of each month for the last 15 years. The only automatic withdrawal I have set up is with my mortgage on the 4th of each month. I will know if there's not a pending deposit on the 2nd…

Of course I always keep a balance above that just in case. But it wasn't for this fucking case!
DD was dropped in my checking account this morning as usual.

Since I logged in through ID.me yesterday, they sent me a survey. I told them the first time I got a page not found error when it attempted to return to the SSA site. When I tried it again later, it worked though. Probably an SSA site problem.
How strange that just after recently getting my SS statement this email from SSA shows up.

Dear H..

Your Social Security Statement is streamlined and easier to read than ever before. That is because we have redesigned the Statement to provide you the most useful information up front and at a glance.

We encourage you to check your Statement at least once a year to review:

  • Your earnings record (to make sure it’s accurate and notify us if you see any errors);
  • Your personalized monthly retirement benefit estimates (which now display how much you can expect to receive depending on when you decide to start your benefits between ages 62 and 70);
  • Other useful information that will explain your benefits and help you prepare for your financial future; and
  • New fact sheets that provide additional information based on your specific age group and earnings situation.

You can access your new Statement by signing into your account at socialsecurity.gov/reviewyourstatement.

Haven't check it yet. I just got donewith almost killing myself cutting up half a tree that fell down right after the big storm about 3 weeks ago. Tomorrow now that that's done, I get to do the first cut of the year, and it has to be done, because it's going to start raining again for a few days starting Sunday.

I wouldn't use the link in the email if I were you. I always just use my personal shortcut to go to a site or look it up myself online.

Lately I have received Many Phishing emails saying they are from the Social Security or Medicare....
