"Read The Bill!"

Wasn't in only a mere few months ago, the GOP and Boehner were railing against bills being rammed through the Congress? I recall he wanted to ensure everyone had adequate time to read the bills, that bills would be posted for three days before discussion?

On the procedural front, House GOP Leader John Boehner is pushing for reform this morning. In a new web video, he expresses his frustration with the Democrats’ bills and “the way they get passed.” Should Boehner win the Speaker’s gavel, he promises to prohibit the House from considering any bill that has not been publicly available for three days on the web

Just wondering, has Boehner put up on the web the bill for which he is pressuring the teabagger representatives to vote?

Sounds like a tit for tat on the democrats ramming through a trillion in spending without transperancy.

The deadline is coming up soon whereas there was really no deadline for Obamacare. It's not even comparable. Is this a 2000 page document like Obamacare was?

Obamacare made me go see a doctor today just so I can get a prescription for something OTC reimbursed under my FSA. Fail.

I heard just last week they had planned to put it up for three days. That was factored into the announced deadline last week. It might be that under the time constraints they'll put it up after they pass it, and let 3 days pass before the Senate puts it to a vote.

We'll see.

Doesn't really matter what's in it. First thing the Senate is going to do is replace all of it with Reid's version. So might as well go all out, unicorns for everyone.

Lets read the bill while we default on our debt. Is that what you want? Did anyone actually read the health care bill? Hell No!

Get ready for Default!

Might as well default on it now, it's only going to get much worse.

Neither of these plans is going to do a thing to the debt.

So, what is the argument? Is it "it doesn't matter if Boner argued against it and promised to put bills up three days before. Democrats did it too!"

I am just disappointed. I thought Boner and the teabagger House would be the shining examples of democracy, you know with their two page bills and lots of time to read them discuss them, the transparency, and all that good stuff. And I now read Boner is telling the intransigent reps to "get their asses in line" so they can just vote on a bill that they haven't seen yet

I guess I was just wrong about Boner and the teabaggers after all

We will govern
differently than past Congresses of both
parties. We will require that every bill
contain a citation of Constitutional
authority. We will give all Representatives
and citizens at least three days to read the
bill before a vote.
We will make sure that
the floor schedule and operations reflect the
priority of revitalizing the economy, and
ensure there is an open process that makes
it easier – not harder – to eliminate
unnecessary spending on any legislation
that spends the people’s money.

we've got 5 days left till the aug 2nd artificial deadline... plenty of time to read it... all of our congresspeople are literate, right?

LOL, did they really call it "Speaker Boehner’s Short Term Default Act?" 😀

Maybe Boehner will hand out some more lobbyist checks on the House floor and bribe some members into signing it. Apparently GOP is threatening to redistrict out teabaggers who don't bend over, grab their ankles and vote for the Boehner bill. 😀

Yeah I remember when the Reps cut a deal for expanding medicaid with Nebraska... No wait, that was the Dems. 😛

NEWS FLASH:
This is how things get done in DC. You screw your people too and that's one of many reasons why both parties need to go.

We the people have sent teabaggers to Washington to change how things are done, how dare Boner try to screw them? 😀

Heh I didn't buy that either. Change in DC is impossible as things are set up. We are owned by both parties since they have a lock on everything that is done. If an independent true genius who could solve most of our problems found his way into Congress both parties would surround him with a confederacy of dunces to make sure nothing good got done if they couldn't take credit. They'd sooner see the nation burn, and so I have plenty of sticks, marshmallows and hot dogs ready to go. Might as well as eat a bug as some say.
