I guess the GOP thinks that wherever the Boner goes, Teabags should automatically follow. :D That's not what we the people voted for :)

Boehner should change his bill so it'll get Democratic House votes.

There's 193 Democrats in the House. All Boehner would need to get to 216 is 23 Republicans.

Its not just the amount of time. Its the politics behind the politics.
If the party leader tells people to vote for a bill its very unlikely they will argue, so theres no point in reading regardless of whether they can or not.

If they are looking to impress their constituents they will vote how they think their people feel about it, not on its actual merits.

Patriot Act was passed when Americans were scared shitless and wanting SOME sort of action, regardless of congresses authority or ability to make them feel safe.

Since Boehner's bill was already scored by the CBO, seems to me it has already been published. I'm just too lazy atm to go over Findlaw and look up his bill.

Boner: Every Major Bill Should Be Posted Online and Publicly Available for at Least 72 Hours

Well, maybe he believes lifting the debt ceiling and cutting about $1T spending doesn't qualify as "major". Why else would he go against his pledge and public declarations? He can't be a hypocritical asshole lying through his teeth, could he?

Absolutely. The GOP must burn for the sin of Bush, of McCain, and of Romney. Your simpleton approach is misguided though, for as soon as we split the vote you will have Democrats in power.

This is a good thing for you, only the Elephant is dragged off the cliff.

After Boehner and company have a major fuck-up yesterday, they decide last night to update their debt ceiling bill to sufficiently cave in to the rabid teabaggers in the House, and will force a vote on it today!!!

So much for the "three day rule", so much for the bills going online, so much for sufficient debate!

So much for "Read The Fucking Bill!", so much for governing transparently, so much for pledging to America.

Boner is just a lying, sleaze ball politician. He should resign his Speakership role, before the teabaggers depose him

House Republican leaders will tie a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution to their two-step debt-ceiling bill — a move that is all but certain to clinch the necessary votes to pass Speaker John Boehner’s proposal a day after it stalled.

“I think this passes,” Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) said.
Several GOP conservatives had held back their support for Boehner’s bill because they wanted the balanced budget amendment provision included. It was the main point of contention in Thursday night’s talks between GOP leaders and the holdouts.

The House plans to vote on the bill Friday evening.
