Ah, $5 DOES sound better.

To those who want one from the next set, email me so i have a list of who wants them so i know how many to pick up. They'll probably move just as fast next time (probably faster), and waiting for ppl to check this thread and then email me might take awhile and you'll be SOL. Picking up extras really isn't that big of a deal if somebody backs out, since they'll sell well either way... but please be sure you WILL be willing to pay for it if i get it (but i know sometimes things happen and you have to back out). I'll even be willing to pick up the DVI connectors as a group buy, will save some shipping. My email is in my Profile.

ok, i did some research.

we need to get the AIW software. it's not available on ati's site, they have the basic drivers but none of the extra software. you can order a software cd, info here http://support.ati.com/faq/installation_cd_sales.html

and the DVI adapter is neccesary to use the card with a normal vga monitor. does anyone know how much ati charges for the adapter in the US?

the customer service for all of North America is in Toronto. so i'm sure it's just $5 cdn plus shipping (to the us)...

Hey people, i got your emails.. and a lot of them at that. I highly doubt i'll be able to grab 20+ next time (the vast majority was for the AIW), so it's one per order unless i can get enough... and it's by order of email that i received too. I'll email everybody back and tell them what number in line they are.

And that's if they get another batch. I have a brother that goes to UofT, so if i can't make it i'll have him pick them up.

BTW, the number to call ATI for the DVI connectors is hell. i've been trying to call them for the past hour, and i can't even use Bell automatic notification option either.

Somebody please get one for me. Please email me at Email I will throw in some bonus and shipping. I would prefer the Retail 32MB AIW but the OEM 32MB AIW is fine too.

tchinhe: there are no retail ones at that store, all the ones we're talking about are oem or system pulls. :)

Looks like I've got your name Kaiser_Sose...except you've got it spelled wrong, but so do I. I tried to get the correct spelling, Keyser Soze, but someone else has got it, so there's someone else out there =)

Wow, calling ATI for the DVI connectors was a PAIN IN THE ASS. It was like 20 questions. Where'd i get it? Why doesn't it come with a connector? Are there stickers on the back, what's the bios? etc etc. I was on the phone for at least 10 mins trying to identify my card (stickers were pulled from the card).

Anyways, i've been getting A LOT of emails. The list is at like 25+ for AIWs now... that's only considering 1 AIW per person too. Most of you's wanted multiples, but i think it's only fair to go one each unless there's enough.

Also, i've noticed that they're popping up in the Toronto newsgroup now. This means that some people are gonna make a decent profit from these (i saw 64meggers going for (250-325), and that they might beat me early to the next set if it does come in.

MORALPANIC: when i called them they just asked me how come i need the converter i said i lost it when i was moving... i said i couldn't find the sticker and they just asked me for the pn number and they said they would ship it out to me..
took all of 3mins.

do'nt worry.. if a next set pops up i'll probably be first on the scene...

i walk by the store every few days anyway.. so i can check.. plus the owners know me so they'll let me know when they arrive ( they usually take 3-4 days from arrival for them to go out on the shelves cuz they test them all and rebag them)..
and i'll post here as soon as i know they get them.. (so well have a few days to gather the troops to raid the store :) )

Kaiser__Sose; Can you pick me up one of those cards? I?d prefer the 64mb version, but the 32mb will do nicely also. I?m willing to pay you a nice premium if you can get me one of these. Email me if you?re interested.

Godspeed to all!

ARGGGGGGGGGG! I read this forum basically everday! How could I have missed this post???? I live in residence and go to the University of Toronto! That's a 15 minute walk maybe? Jeez! Anyways, next time they get a batch (which I doubt) I think I can pick up some for someone who would be willing to buy me one =P

What can I say, I'm a starving student. I'm sure I can resell them for 3-4 times the value... that's great!

Kaiser__Sose: it seems like it might be better that you email moralpanic first when they get more instead of posting on this board first, because it seems like lots of people here are planning on e-baying them for a profit. :(

I agree! Not only should it be one per customer (and if the cards come back, do NOT paste it all over Anandtech or elsewhere!) but the people who get the cards should legitimately WANT them, not just as a money-making venture!
For some of us, it's the only way we're going to be able to afford such a good video card! :(
My reasoning for not posting it all over the web? Well, when I called the store, they were hostile because of all the phone calls they received about the cards. They were NOT happy. :) Since the store CAN NOT ship these cards, it's in all of our best interests to let someone from that area with a good credit limit ( :) ) buy as many cards as possible without a big hubbub at the store. They'll be happy, since they made a nice, big, pain-free sale. That person can then turn around and sell them here to Ananders (1 each!) at a small profit to cover expenses and effort.
Sound good? :)

Well, that's how it's gonna be with PS2 as well. People aren't gonna buy one. They're gonna buy as many as possible, and resell for a profit. Yes, if i'm on the losing side i'd be REALLY pissed, but if i'm on the winning side, i'd be pretty happy.
