<< << Ha, ya right. All nVidia has to do is follow it's 6 month product cycle and they'll be fine. >>
Yep, they need morons who are willing to go blow $300-$400 dollars every six months for an extra 10 FPS that they can't even see....or that games even use the performance of the card.
All they do is tweak the core a little bit and do small things to make you drop a few more hundred just to think you have the biggest d!ck at AT. It's pretty funny 🙂
But on another note, if this Maxtor Parhelia hits the market soon....that should really kick butt. To have the performance of a G4, yet the 2d and functionality would rock. I do development for web and internet software applications (also GUI design and graphic arts). A card like this would own anything Nvidia has, as well as any other competition. I'm using Radeon 8500's in all my computers now. I still don't even use them to the fullest extent, but they have great 2d through the DVI. >>
And what graphics company doesn't sell stripped-down versions of their flagship? ATi certainly does it with the 8500LE and 8500LE LE. NVidia does it with the Ti4400 and Ti4200.
This is also done with value products as well. ATi's Radeon 7000, 7200, and 7500. NVidia's MX460, MX440, and MX420.
Do you really think Matrox won't do it?
