It looks like this needs to be purchased before Feb 28th 2002 to qualify for the rebate.

(see here)

Unless of course there is a new rebate somewhere else I havent been able to find.

Well, I bought one from Amazon, but I'm going to cancel the order. Here's why :

I went into Circuit City and tried to find out if there was a drastic price reduction on these things or something. I asked one of the guys working there if they carried the reader. He said he had 1 left, so I asked for a price check. It rang up $59.99. I said, "Ok, cool, I'll have to shop around". He then said he could try to match whatever price I find. I said I saw the same thing on Amazon.com for $17.99. He went to his Internet terminal and we brought up the $17.99 price on amazon.com. He then said would I buy it there if they matched the price. I said "sure". He asked his manager. The manager saw it and said "cool". I had no problems whatsoever getting the pricematch; they were all pretty cool about it. Heck, I may need to shop at CC if they're gonna be this courteous. So in short :

I got the reader from Circuit City for $17.99 + tax - $20 rebate (to be submitted). Not bad.

One caveat. He did say that it was the last one they had. Also, if anyone's interested, I bought it from the Circuit City in Irving, Texas near 183 & Beltline.

I looked up on CircuitCity's webpage to see if it was in stock before heading out there and the box on the CircuitCity webpage is different than the one on Amazon's. Does the UPC at CircuitCity conform with the rebate?

Please help!!!

I need help regarding the receipt, I would order from amazon.com, does the online invoice work or do we need to give a copy of original receipt? If we have to give a copy of the receipt, how to get the receipt from amazon??

I don't want to lose this rebate, I once missed a $30 rebate coz I sent the online invoice.

the dude that got it PM'd at his local CC wont work for most of us. CC B&M doesnt PM online prices so YMMV.

Why not just order from Amazon and send in for the rebate. Why are people bothering with the PM to CC or others?

The rebate form says a Dazzle DM-8400 which is the same model as shown on Amazon's website.

b/c this is a high possibility that amazon's price is a mispricing, and if they notice it and start canceling orders...
u see retail as we all kno is no where near as low as $20 (single reader is) at least $40! so from $40-->$20 list-->$18 sale... cmon!

I ordered one from amazon.com, but I'd feel more comfortable having a printable rebate coupon. I was going to submit it through rebateshq, but it asks for the UPC and "Contact." This may sound stupid, but do they want my name in the "Contact" field?

I'm probably making this harder than it really is. :)

I wouldn't assume that it's a price mistake. I bought 2 complete sets of Black Fiestaware from amazon when all the other colors were four times the price. It cost me 65 for a ton of dishes that was over 300 if I had chosen another color. I would buy from Amazon for 17.99 and if you get the rebate, it's gravy. I've never had Amazon cancel an order of mine and I have ordered 10-15 times over the last year. Your choice.

this is probably an older version with an older usb interface like someone at FW said, but if that's the only difference
it's a good price especiallly w/ rebate.

my local CC only has the new blister pack packaged models which they have tagged at $79!

Being the careful freak that I am, I just ordered from dell, and printed the amazon price to PM with AMEX. You save on shipping (if you order from Amazon) and tax (if you go to CC B&M).

FYI: I also called dazzle, and the CS confirmed that the rebate was indeed extended to June 31, 2002. I wrote down his ID and everything, incase I encounter problems. He said, they were not planning to update the rebate form, but you could still use the one that says Feb 28, 2002 from their website. Never used hq, so decided to go the ancient, mail-in rebate route.

Hope that helps

So far so good. I don't think it's misprice. Order two just now and received email confirmation.
