<< Damn. Did anyone save the Amazon page with the 17.99 Price? >>

Yes I have, but would it help? I don't think it would do any good if ordering online, would have go to the store and talk to the manager. Depends upon the manager.

I don't think AT alone killed the deal. Other forums probably had something to do with it since this is now rated #1 on the Amazon sales rank. I saved it in my cart and it shows up at 17.99 but I can't take it out since they are OOS.

Has anybody come out with a USB 2.0 reader yet. I thought they are all 1.0.

The 6-in-1 I got from Dell is USB 2.0. It says that right on the paper came with it. It's a plastic blister (see CC wbsite) not a box.

Just as an FYI, the reader I got from CC B&M with a price match was a blister pack and it has nothing on it saying that it's USB 2.0.

The Dazzle 6-in-1 is NOT USB 2.0. It will work on a USB 2.0 port, but it is still a USB 1.1 device. USB 2.0 readers have just now come out and they are few and far between (and quite expensive comparitively speaking).

Missed this one--should have ordered when I saw it instead of waiting.

Mrbentley--I saw a couple of USB 2.0 multiformat readers at a CompUSA B&M last night--they are hitting the streets.

<< Check the scan of paper came with my 6-in-1 reader. "USB 2.0 Device" is on the upper right corner.

USB 2.0 device does NOT mean that it is FULLY USB 2.0 compliant. They are merely saying that it will work in 2.0 ports. It will NOT transfer data at increased USB 2.0 speeds. It will still only transfer at 1.1 speeds.

If it doesn't have this LOGO on it, it is NOT USB 2.0.

I have a Delivery estimate of May 2 - May 10. Does anyone have a sooner one in their order status? Just curious.

Seems Amazon has changed the price on their web page to $40.72. But I did order the Dazzle from Dell about 5 days ago, and my ship date is May 1, 2002.

I saved the amazon thing if anyone needs it for a pricematch... I knew this was going to happen. Should have ordered from Amazon too, but I thought they were going to cancel orders. People who did order, keep us updated on whether it goes through.

The Dazzle I received from Dell *IS* USB 2.0
NFS 4 not to disrespect you, but do you have one of these readers in your possession?

Go to Dazzle's site and look at their specs. They make NO mention of USB 2.0. It is USB "compliant" meaning that it will work in USB 2.0 ports. And like I said, if it doesn't have that logo, it's not USB 2.0.

Don't believe me, look here...a lot of these card readers are trying to fool their customers (like Addtronics):

<< My shipping DigiDrive and preproduction Dazzle transferred data dependably and quickly. Though the DigiDrive is USB 2.0A-compliant, according to Addonics, it's still a USB 1.1 device; you can plug it in to a USB 2.0 port, but you won't get any increase in transfer speed by using a USB 2.0A-enabled system. >>

The only FULLY COMPLIANT USB 2.0 reader out there is this one:

NFS4, thanks for the info & correction. They sure did a good job to fool me that its USB 2.0 compliant, I got carried away when it worked fine on my USB 2.0 ports (forgot its backward compatible w/ USB 1.1)

<< I have a Delivery estimate of May 2 - May 10. Does anyone have a sooner one in their order status? Just curious. >>

Shipping estimate: April 28 - May 5
Delivery estimate: May 1 - May 9

Ordered 4/19/02 @ 7:00

I have the amazon page saved with the price $17, I can email it to you if you request it.
Can it be used to buy the reader for $17 on the amazon.com or do we need to go to the store for PM?

I'm not understanding this. How are we supposed to PM this at CC if they do not PM internet or mail order retailers? I don't have a credit card with BVG unfortunately. please let me know, I could really use one of these things.

but u see circuit city has special partnership w/ amazon.com i think... and if not try other stores like compusa or wut have u...

Post edited to save the need for flaming....

Hmmmmm, I guess as long as you don't intentionally change the date on the page it would be ok, since most BVG thingies require a dated ad or web page and that date needs to be the same or after when you purchased.

Absolutely NOT. How could that be fraud? The scan Maril999 provided has a date on it. I actually called and told the CSR that Amazon has already changed the price. Even the CSR said it's very common for websites to change prices. The fact there was a sale for that price.
