This came to mind seeing all the "" expressions.

It does not taste good, so why is it so popular? I understand that getting drunk can be enjoyable to some, but why beer?

That's what I used to think until I found good tasting beer at microbreweries and from specialty brewers across the country.

I got tired of reading this thread. But I am pretty sure beer is an aquired taste.

Edit: Oops, sorry Nik beat me to the punch.

carbs arent bad for you, they are only bad when you sit on your arse and watch tv for 25 hours a day.

Yeah but still. When you down 6-15pts a night for twice a week then you have a sh!t load of calories that are essentially empty. Drinking 10-15pts of beer a week adds up quickly and will not help you to lose the belly. Of course most Brits do this lol.

Well I live in England so the stuff I have access to is good quality.

I personally can not stand beer. Well it 'tastes' alright but then after 2-3pts+ my stomach gets really gassy and I don't feel too great. I'm not drunk but my stomach feels very bloated.

I like cider though. That taste nice to me. Good old pint of Strong Bow from the tap at the many many pubs in England lol.

SnakeBite is also good for me. Beer to 3/4 of pint. 1/4 cider and a bit of black current. That taste nice to me.
