This came to mind seeing all the ":beer:" expressions.

It does not taste good, so why is it so popular? I understand that getting drunk can be enjoyable to some, but why beer?

Don't see the appeal at all. I'd rather have Dr. Pepper or Sweet Tea

Yup, beer is nasty. But of course, "you have to acquire the taste to prove you're a man" hahaha

If I want to get drunk, I head for the rum. Beer is nasty, takes too long to get drunk, and you get more calories in it to get drunk than having a few rum and cokes.

See there's this crazy thing about people. Some people like some things and some people don't. Just so happens that YOU DON'T THINK IT TASTES GOOD. But a lot of people do.

When I was in high school we'd drink hard liquor just to get drunk. I couldn't stomach beer when I was a teenager but then I slowly developed a taste for it (especially heavier ale). I love Chimay right now and most people think its wretched at first but the taste really does grow on you till the point you crave it 🙂

I can't believe what I'm hearing. American beer tastes like piss, yes. A good Irish, Scottish, or Belgium beer however...you all are crazy.

How old are you?

Have you ever gone through a bottle of 10 year old Scotch in a night? If not, you haven't had fine whiskey. That's just advice man, nothing against Jack, but it AIN'T fine whiskey, and that's the truth.
 
I don't like most beers, but I enjoy Guinness a lot more than the yellow piss that passes for beer in most places here in the US.
 
yeah, I've never been able to aquire the taste. I can drink it if it's the only thing to drink, but for me to drink an entire bottle, I really have to force myself.

at least with hard alcohol, you can control the taste by mixing it with other drinks, going anywhere from insanely bitter to insanely sweet.
 
I like beer, but I prefer liquor, ideally tequila. I like a harder edge to my buzz when I'm drinking and beer just isn't potent enough. Plus you end up pissing every 10 minutes. Wine isn't half bad either.
