I don't really even know what you're all talking about it, but it makes me want to get in on it.

there just has never been a deal worth it for me to get my ass up that early, and fight w/ the crowds. After working a black friday on the retail side... I don't think I ever what to go into a shop on that day. some customers... made me wonder how humanity has survived to this day.

It's going to be a LONG day :)

I haven't done Black Friday in a couple of years. Obviously, people stand in line at 5am or earlier to make sure they get the best deals when the stores open at 6am. So how can you do more than 1 store? Maybe 2, if another store opens at 8am? Can you still get deals several hours after a store opens?

First you need access to the BF ads, next what time the stores open then you have a game plan.

It helps to prioritize and stagger the times you're going to be at certain stores.

As long as you do not take my $90 TV at best buy, I will not kill you;)

Buy early... do a return repurchase. Shouldn't be a problem.

edit: the ad isn't out yet... how were you supposed to know that you should wait :D
Just politely say to the manager now - "you usually have chairs on sale on the friday after thanksgiving [don't refer to it as black friday - that indicates at least minimal saviness] Should I buy this chair today, or should I wait until I see if you or any other stores have good deals on chairs on that day?"
They still do this? So I could buy X hard drive a week early, and return repurchase on the BF sale, correct? That would be sweet if that's the case

What's the worst they can do? Tell you "no, you can't return it"?
At the very worst, simply say then I'll return it for a refund. Have your accomplice shopping with you who will snatch it up :)
So, if there are any hassles, my wife has to purchase what I return.

What do those TVs normally sell for? I remember last year, everyone was going crazy for a $29.99 DVD player. But the deal lost its luster when I learned that they were normally $39.99. I think many of the super-cheap deals are just $10-$20 off the normally low price of generic junk. Not worth waiting in line for 2 hours.

If it is the one I think it is, it retails for $179.99 at circuit city. I have not gone there in person yet, but i plan too on tuesday to see if bestbuy has any 27 in apex tv's.

One I went to was pretty empty too. I got the 17" flat panel for $150 or whatever it was. Wasn't much going on and they had a ton of them. Best BUy sucks though. Had over an hour wait in the checkout line which was winding it's way around the entire store. Will be staying far away from that place this year.

I'll be in NC this Black Friday. I have yet to see any deals worth getting up for.

Nothing is worth getting on Black Friday, everyone, so I think it is best you all just stayed home...;)

I didn't check again later in the afternoon, but for the first hour of opening the chair area was vacant and everyone was trying to get the logitech webcam.

I will be on vacation for the OSU/Michigan game and will get to miss it this year :p
