RC5-64 FINISHED!

W:QW! Finally ended....what a project! 😀

Congrats to the TeAm for finishing up in the #2 spot! 😀

more...more...more! :Q

Wow !!! At Last! Can we have some sort of celebration or something? RC5 is what brought so many of us here in the first place!

😀

The release says the participant wishes to remain anonymous 🙁, but maybe D.Net will reveal if they might have been on a team though... Also it states they look forward to moving onto RC5-72. That part is a bit interesting..

😀

Yep, we always said that even with all the superfast PCs/MACs/Servers, it would probably be won by some slower PC just chugging along! Hehe! 🙂

So, after 1,757 days and 58,747,597,657 work units tested the winning key was found!
WoW! 😀

Congrats! to the Team Anandtech RC5 group for getting to #1, and maintaining the #2 spot. 😀

Awesome to hear that the key was found. Like many others, I guess I'll have to eat some crow for thinking the project would go past 100% without finding the key. 😱

I'm gonna miss it 🙁
No wonder my stats haven't been updated...I was still thinking of getting an Athlon XP for my new system just coz they're faster, I guess this is a sign...

dang, this happens two days after i just added a athlon 1.4 tbird and a xp 1600+ to crack for me, heh...

anyway, great work to everyone who participated in rc5!

so, the big question is... where do we all go now?

:Q

Amazing.... You mean I have to go around and stop machines that have been cracking forever??? LOL

(OGR time... 😛 😉)

This is almost like anti-climatic though....

ACK! NOTICE for anyone running RC5:

If your dnetc.ini lists project-priority=RC5,OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0 (or something similar), please shutdown your clients if possible. D.Net has now issued the contest as closed (proxyper level). Since these clients are unable to default to anything else, they are starting to hammer the team pproxies (literally connecting/disconnecting every second).

Update: It seems this may only be a client version 463 bug, or least this is the only version that continues to hammer the proxies.

Thanks!
Brad..

Yahoo! 😀 Now I can get on with other projects! (as if I wasn't already.)

My remote loose cow should switch to OGR automagically, if I set it up right. My local cow will probably go to SETI for the moment. Anybody know any other project where a P-MMX is better than a P-NonMMX?

Wow, the key's been nailed at last! 😀 Congrats to all TA RC5-64 crunchers past and present 😎

Ahhh. It feels good to reach the end at last!

For now, the parts of my herd that were crunching RC5 will switch to OGR until I decide how to reassign my little cows...

JHutch

PS Does this mean we have to retire the hot tub babes and beer? Not that JonB has ever given them up for team use...

Don't know what to say other than that is another Chapter closed.

Congrats to the TeAm and worldwide participants.
