Raw tomatoes

I'm not talking about cooked in foods like lasagna. Salsa doesn't count. Ketchup definitely doesn't count. Just raw tomato, by itself or added on top of food (like on a sammich, or I suppose added to a salad). . Do you like them?

Probably my most favorite food. Has to be home grown though. Eat them as a side dish with almost every meal now that it's summer, just add salt and pepper.

Nothing has the eyeball roll into the back of your head goodness of a raw tomato.

As I mentioned in the organic thread, I cannot eat a tomato raw or the juices will make me gag. I don't know why, but they do. Whenever I get things with cherry tomatoes with them, I either crush the tomatoes or set them aside, as I cannot eat them whole unless I just swallow them without chewing (momma taught me to chew my food).

I have no qualms with things like pizza, ketchup, salsa, etc. I even prefer a tomato slice on my sammich depending on what type of sammich it is, of course.

Yep, absolutely love them. Had a full salad of just sliced heirloom tomatoes, olive oil, and salt & pepper the other day. So delicious.

Yes. If you are buying unripe, supermarket bought, refrigerated tomatoes delivered from hundreds of miles away, chances are you are experiencing tomatoes that taste nothing like good, juicy-sweet tomatoes grown locally and freshly picked. Tomatoes taste good just like that, and also on sandwiches, in salads, and in various dishes. Good tomatoes make excellent pasta and pizza sauce.

You should only store tomatoes at room temperature, never in the fridge. It destroys the flavor and sugar production.

I refuse to even put a half tomato in the fridge, just put some plastic over it and set it back on the counter.

Sometimes. I eat them in caprese, gazpacho, some other things... don't eat them on sandwiches or burgers or in lettuce-based salads though.

Slices on a hamburger or sammich I like. Big chunks or those mini ones in a salad I'll eat, but don't really dig. Eating it like an apple I just don't like.

They are not my favorite but I eat them, sometimes even just a slice with a bit of salt. Any real salsa is going to have lots of raw tomatoes in it, so not sure why that doesn't count.
