So after riding in the 2009 Ninja 250R for less than a month and putting 1,000 miles on it I upgraded.

Meet my new 2009 Ninja ZX6R This bike is a monster

It have a ridiculous amount of horsepower for a 599cc engine (125hp stock) Oh man this thing pull like a freight train on steroids.

My insurance (Progressive) went from $43/month to $156/month. Holy highway robbery batman.
The next day I got a quote from rider.com insurance and they only want $78/month. Sweet!

I'm planning to lower this bike about 2 inches so I can comfortable put my feet down.

600cc still isn't all that big. I've been looking got something in this range to start riding again. 1000cc+ is where it gets scary imo.

600cc might be too small on a cruizer/touring bike but not on a Race Replica.
This 600cc thing scare the hell out of me. It is fast. Twist the throttle and OMG you better hold on because it's leaving whether you're on it or not.

Yea a modern 600 is still ridiculously fast. Capable of running into the 10s in the quarter, I'd think that would be a little scary on a bike. My car would need about 500rwhp to even make it interesting against one.

Just be careful. At least you started with a 250 to get some experience. I have a friend that started on a 600, he laid it down a couple times and is too scared to even ride again.

May I ask how much you paid for it? I've been contemplating upgrading from my Ninja 250, but have been mostly looking at some leftover models (closest dealership only has a couple leftover Honda CBR600RR's and a '09 Suzuki GSX-R600).

Edit: How's the seat on that compared to your 250?

Is that legal?

Nope. But not a primary offense, either. So sure they can give you a $15 fix-it if you are pulled over, but you cannot be pulled over for it.

I have a flawless driving record with no tickets. However, I've been pulled over on the 10 a total of 3 times. Not once was the license plate even commented on. As always, YMMV. As an amusing afterthought, my exhaust states in very plain bezel print "not for street use". Just shows how much people pay attention.

Nice looking bike except for two things, which in my opinion look crap:
The exhaust.
The rear plastic / metal assemblage for the indicators and number plate.

Not that big a deal though since you could, if you were inclined, modify both.

Wait until you ride a liter bike.

I've ridden the 600cc super sports and felt that you really have to wind them up to get into the powerband.

Your bike looks good though. I like the black and the orange, never been a fan of green at all.

That license plate mount wouldn't fly here. And man, those two high mount cans are ugly.

And I personally think your entire bike is an eyesore, but I don't begrudge you. That's the beauty of opinions! =D

I love the stock cans on the '07 10R. Enough so that I removed the Akra and put them back on.

You need to find a fender eliminator asap. That fender is awful!
Stock exhaust has got to be next. Bike is probably making 100HP at the rear wheel. My bike makes a true 171hp at the rear wheel. I know your 600 ain't putting down 125hp.

Other than that it looks nice. I'm a Kawasaki guy myself.

It's a leftover 09 model. They have it on sale for $6995.
The seat is much better, very cushy & much larger.

They dynoed them @ 107 to 110 hp at the rear wheels for the 09 ZX6

:werd: it's not that they're capable of running 10 seconds...they ARE running low 10 seconds quarter miles @ 133mph.

I think I may have to take it easy with this bike. Holy shit I got a close call tonight all thanks to awesome New Jersey's road.

I was accelerating and at about 80mph, I hit a bump on the road and the bike started to tank slap. It was extremely violent tank slap and lasted 2 seconds (feel like an eternity) My brain was firing a million molecules a second and my balls went up to my chest. I was prepared to go down and was at the planning stage on how I should landed to minimized injuries. Luckily the pre-installed factory steering stabilizer saved my bacon. Holy hell it was ugly.

Crazy mate! Glad you didn't hit the deck!

Bike looks beasty mate. I'd love one but fear for my life...
