That's a B+ video card.

Compared to the heavy gamers, you'd get a C because it's average or below.
The XP 1700+ and PC2100 are starting to show their age. I have them both.
But the average user's computer is probably about a 1gig Pentium or TBird.
So you are above average but a couple of steps below the top dogs.

You do have a pretty decent system there. It beats mine in a few areas, but i use my machine differently than you do, so no comparison is warranted. However, if you want a better grade there, i'd follow boyRacer's advice. Those 1700's can really scream when you oc. :beer:😀

Not necessarily. Depends on if it is a TBred or Pally.

Yeah, true there, but he didnt specify. I hope he has a Tbred though. I had a palamino 1800+ at one point, and I hated it because of all the trouble you wouldve had to go to overclock it. I'm glad they moved away from those. TBred's are great...

BTW, coldcut...do you know if it is a Tbred or Palimino? If you know, please tell us because we could more accurately rate this system of yours. Thanks.

How can I tell? I still have the original box.

Also, I suck at overclocking. I'll need someone professional to overclock my system to its full potential.

cause slow ram, cpu not overclocked, win xp home

(maybe the way i give grades is not quite fair... aa A would be a P4 3.6+ GHz or an athlon 2.4+ GHz)

(low) B. Not super. But it's still good enough to do most things. Your processor and slow RAM are the weakest parts. (actually very similar to mine. but mine is weaker. i plan on upgrading junk later).

He will need some PC2700 (min) ram first. If he got the OCZ PC3700EL / DDR 466 1GB KIT then it would be an A+.

Not all 1700 Tbreds OC well. There is one good one that will OC like crazy. Apparently they are rebagded XP2700s or something like that.
