lets put it this way. It seems they are trying to get out underage people. Makes sense. The site just can't keep records on every single one of their 'stars'

Umm, wasn't this Act passed in 1988?

Or was it 1990? I forget now. Oh, yeah, it was passed in 1988, and then modified in 1990 and repassed as it was found unconstitutional.

Before you roll your eyes, take a look at this statement that appears on the site:

"The regulations were promulgated by Alberto Gonzales, US Attorney General appointed by George Bush. If you voted for Bush, this is your fault. If you think this country is free, you are sadly mistaken. No nation has freedom when it is run by religious zealots."

This is absolutely correct. Bush is indirectly responsible for this (by appointing Alberto Gonzales as AG). It is also correct that no nation has freedom if it is run by religious zealots.

Yes! If only we'd voted Kerry for President, so that the internet would flow free with child pornagraphy!

;)

The internet already flows free with child pornography. But not on ratemyboobies.com.. This particular law is only meant to make things more difficult on the adult web entertainment industry, not because there are actual victims that need to be protected from anything. It's legislating morality, as religious zealots are wont to do .

Perhaps you missed that ;) in my post?

Contrary to what you seem to believe this law was passed by congress, not bush. It is the result of years of debate over Traci Lords and why she was allowed to enter the adult entertainment industry at the age of 16. It should be callled the Traci Lords law as it was concieved shortly after her revelation and passed into law shortly after her suicide.

What the fsck???

I mean, I never really visited.. but the government can just shut sites down that it doesen't like?

WTF???????

Edit: Read the thread. Interesting....

Can't they just put up a notice saying that you must be 18 or over blahblah to post pictures? ..

I guess not, the government is requiring that they document the age of each "model"? So consenting that you're over 18 isn't enough?

....

this law has been around for ages... they have tried to sue Reno for it loads of times. All the current AG did was include the internet... and try to enforce it. But is it so wrong to make pron providers prove that they are working with adults?

Well he is taking away your right to free speach, via patriot act.

Yep, as soon as Bush passed the USAPATRIOT Act, my free speech went away.

I don't think you understand.

Sites like tangotime will cease to exist because of this law.

How are they different? They can't prove the people in the pictures are over 18.

This is but the first casualty.

If they don't cover themselves or provide proof that the people shown there are 18+ then I don't see what there is to get upset over?

It's not like its a new thing that people have to be 18+ to pose nude.

I don't see why these fvcktards are getting up in arms over this. This isn't Bush's fault, so blaming it on him is ignorant.

I don't see what the big deal is.

These sites should've been doing age verification to begin with. If not, they were either too lazy to do it, or just didn't care about the laws.

Wow, there is more misinformation within this thread than most presidential elections.

You had better phone Traci Lords on that one. I'm sure she will be interested to know she is dead...
