Exactly. Darwins' theories apply perfectly well. If a species needs to adapt to survive, it will either adapt or die out. This one apparently found a niche that remained unchanged over millions of years, and thus it worked just fine in that configuration, which it still retains today.

Plus God just invented it perfect from the start.

But that implies that everything else that evolved was invented wrong, and God wouldn't do that now, would he?
And if this is perfect, would it not be created in God's image? There is no FSM, just a great and powerful frilled shark.

From reading the article, it doesn't sound like the shark is rare, at least not at 3,000'.

Seeing the shark alive is what is rare.

(I'm pretty sure I've seen film of one these before. The Discovery Channel or Animal Planet did a show on creatures of the deep. Unmanned sub things on a cable took pictures etc. Lots of wierd stuff down there. And yeah, I remember them saying this type of stuff generally can't live at the surface, less pressure and all that.)
