I know youre being sarcastic but its probably true that the shark had a better chance of survival if they just left it alone... usually. From the video looks like this shark was on its last legs and probably had like no chance of survival. Theyll probably learn a lot from studying it.

Your point being? Look at cockroaches, alligators, etc... Some species don't have the need to evolve.

Exactly. Darwins' theories apply perfectly well. If a species needs to adapt to survive, it will either adapt or die out. This one apparently found a niche that remained unchanged over millions of years, and thus it worked just fine in that configuration, which it still retains today.
 
I'd imagine if you take a fish used to the pressure created by 3,000 feet of water and put it in 3 feet of water, it would die pretty damn fast whether it was sick or not.
