First thought: it looks like modern India. Roads with no markings, cars that go very slow, cars and horse pulled carriages on the same road, people walking on the roads. Bicycles.

Wrong bigot, either you have never been to India or you need to get your eyes checked. We don't have double decker buses. road are not that nice and clean, people on bicycle don't have nice clothes on. There are no begged and homeless on the side of the road, there are no animals on the road. I can go on and on. STFU and get a life

What did he say that was bigoted? It's just an observation.

Chill the fuck out.

Proof of time travel. There are also some incredible color photographs from WWII (http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=396393) that look like they were taken with a modern camera.

Some of this retouching stuff is awesome. I saw the sound of music recently on bluray and despite its age it looks freaking incredible.

Colour photography has been around for a long time. Prokudin-Gorsky's photos of Russia in the 1910s are very impressive, even unrestored. Kodachrome has been around since 1935. It was expensive though so colour photos prior to the 1960s are always a treat. It really does bring those eras to life.

All I could think of was Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds... especially as the narrator rattles off the names of the bridges as they are destroyed.

Yeah I saw the Sound of Music on Bluray last year, the quality was outstanding. I actually liked the picture quality a lot better than stuff shot on the newer digital cameras. Incredible detail.

iirc (don't quote me on this) film is still 8K or 10K and IMAX can be scanned up to 16K or something ridiculous, so we still have a ways to go in the digital world before things really, truly start matching up.

There is nothing there that to can compare to India with yet you didn't miss the chance to criticize India. That's what's bigoted putz. You sound like a fucking idiot

According to you the streets in India are bad and filthy, full of animals, lined with homeless beggars, and the bicyclists dress poorly.

He didn't say anything bad about India. You did. His isn't the one "criticizing."

In summation:
Him: "Traffic is similar to India."
You: "WTF?! How DARE you! India is way worse than that!"

Even so, India is HUGE. What's true about one area isn't true about another.

Shens.

Everyone knows the world was black and white prior to 1953.

I'm always surprised by what people are surprised by.

Wtf is wrong with you. Pms? Meds wore off? Your reaction was over the top abnormal.

Two parts I liked.

At 330 people are putting flowers on a WW1 monument. It only ended 9 years prior to the film being made.

And the little peanut girl at 7 min. She is adorable. She I'd most likely dead. I wonder what her life was like. Did she married a american GI from WW11? How many childern did she have? When did she die and where is she buried. What was her name?

Some people here are native English-speakers, yet they fall prey to silly misunderstandings through bad reading or bad writing. This is not their story.

Some people here are not native English-speakers.

Some people here are thin-skinned.

Some people here are as dumb as a box of rocks.

This diagram has an overlap.

I think you put words in his mouth. Wow, he observed things like bicycles.
Why is that upsetting?
You illustrated more of a bleaker picture than he did.
Are you going to kick your own ass?

Once again, chill the fuck out.

- damn those motorized devices were slow back then.

- people looking at the camera with inquiring faces... much like people look at the google maps car these days.
