I've listened to classic rock on WNCX (98.5) since the late eighties, only 10 or 15 years after rock's hey day. Don't any stations play "classic rap" now?

My local classic rock station KZEP 104.5

Only station I listen to. And I love that Alice Cooper hosts nights on KZEP. He's awesome. And they stream the station online too, which is great.

Bookmarked, Alice Cooper, ftw!

back OT: i don't really like much rap, but I'll listen to anything at least once.

what the "ignorant" are saying about rap/hip hop

same applies for emo and probably for pretty much any genre.

NAme me one good emo song

this should be a good start.

at the drive in - one armed scissor, picket fence cartel
american football - honestly?, the one with the tambourine
jimmy eat world - clarity (cd and song)
the june spirit - testing superstition
further seems forever - the moon is down (carabba - dashboard - one of his bands before dashboard)
the stryder - jungle city twitch
gatsby's american dream - ribbons and sugar/why we fight/volcano
the get up kids - something to write home about
mae - destination beautiful
copeland - beneath the medicine tree
park - s is for susan, the gost you are, at breakneck speed, gasoline kisses for everyone
saosin - translating the name ep
sunny day real estate- diary
benton falls - fighting starlight
the promise ring
cap n' jazz
braid
mineral - power of failing
early november - for all of this
coheed and cambria - second stage turbine blade
Indian Summer
elliot smith
neutral milk hotel
cursive - domestica
moneen - are we really happy with who we are right now?
weezer - blue (although i really don't like weezer...)
two thirty eight - you should be living
christie front drive - s/t and anthology
jawbreaker - dear you
built to spill - there's nothing wrong with love
few and far between - three
death cab for cutie - we have the facts and we're voting yes
pavement - crooked rain, crooked rain
owen - no good for no one now
brand new - deja entrendu
pedro the lion

this should cover quite a bit of spectrum of old/new.

and if you want to get technical, you can throw stuff like fugazi up there too.

once again kids, lets try and not be brainwashed by mtv >.<

Listen to Eminem - when I'm gone

Pretty much his only good song, and pretty much the only rap song I like.

Kanye West - Touch the Sky?

I can't believe some people. Calling ALL rap crap is just trolling its so popular these days and so prevalent obviously its popular with people from all ethnic backgrounds. It wouldn't be played if it wasn't.

Are you people stupid? Yeah, of course main stream rap sucks. So does main stream rock (eg U2), pop, R&B, emo, punk, etc. Just because you haven't heard good rap doesn't mean it doesn't exist, any more than it means that good rock doesn't exist.

Rap sucked since roughly 1991. As soon as it stopped being fun party music and became gangsta, drugz, gunz, rape women music well, see shark jump.
