you guys are ignorant for the most part. Don't speak on which you don't know anything about. If your only experience with hip hop/rap is what you've heard on radio/mtv/mtv2 or any other similar source just keep your mouths shut.

p.s.

what the "ignorant" are saying about rap/hip hop

same applies for emo and probably for pretty much any genre.

There is a lot of good rap. ALthough im not a big rap fan, I do enjoy some stuff by Young Jeezy. I also like some songs from three six mafia. I do enjoy a lot of old school rap, like NWA and Ice T. Even old snoop dogg and Dre aren't that bad.

This coming from a person who loves classic rock, black metal, thrash metal.

I've listened to classic rock on WNCX (98.5) since the late eighties, only 10 or 15 years after rock's hey day. Don't any stations play "classic rap" now?
My local classic rock station KZEP 104.5

Only station I listen to. And I love that Alice Cooper hosts nights on KZEP. He's awesome. And they stream the station online too, which is great.
Nice, they're streaming Ziggy Stardust right now. It's 8:30PM here. I assume Alice will be on in about 30 minutes, right? I'll give him a listen, THANKS!

Don't be so closed-minded. I don't listen to rap but I do know that there a few good songs in the past and those that aren't mainstream now. To say that the rap genre is nothing but what you hear people blasting in cars and hear on the radio/tv is a gross misguided generalization.

Hip Hop used to be OK, but "Laffy Taffy" and "Grillz" pretty much killed it for me. Anyone over the age of 15 should be offended by that childish sounding crap.
