The guy in the pink shirt (bystander, not the one being attacked) broke his ankle. I think around 1:22 you can see him fall down at a weird angle and you hear a loud crack/crunch. Later you see him in the wheelchair and can even hear him say something along the lines of "I broke my ankle".

I didn't see it at first but then read Youtube comments and sure enough, it happened. Boy did I cringe though. I can't watch that video anymore b/c I know I will look for that ankle crunch sound. Ugh, shudders.

The guy in the pink shirt was the guy attacked.

The crowd that tackled the offender, knocked the pink shirt guy down and broke his ankle.

This is why you don't intervene unless absolutely necessary, because without proper training somebody can get hurt. They were at an airport, police were mere seconds away. If people weren't trying to be youtube heroes, the guy would still have an intact ankle.

Libertarian advising people to let the police handle it.

Well if you don't do anything people start asking why you didn't help out. Then you get looked at as a wimp.

These people got involved without thinking about being You Tube stars. They jumped in because they saw that someone needed help.

If I'm on a regional jet I generally assume the pilots are at least a couple sheets to the wind, you'd have to be to take those jobs in the first place. I expect better from mainline pilots...namely cocaine.

Airline pilots are heavily random-tested for drugs and alcohol and above that if your in the cockpit with someone who is under the influence of anything you are required to report it immediately or face losing your license. That's why the pilot's union was upset about "Flight" (although I liked the film), they said no one who had the extent of Whip's problems would not go unnoticed for long.

The large guy in the pink shirt was helping tackle the assaulter and got his ankle broken in the process.

So, I guess your right, If he wasn't trying to be a "youtube hero", the he would still have an intact ankle.

I applaud his effort, though.

Look at the video more closely.

There are two guys in pink. The one taht was attacked (also wearing a jacket over the pink shirt), and another by stander in just a pink shirt (no jacket).

The one in just the pink shirt helped take down the attacker and in doing so, broke his ankle.

Why did they let a drunkard into the airport?

Or did he get drunk whilst inside?

DEAR LORD! That would cost thousands of dollars!!
