eh, no doubt BB sucks but you are ranting about something that is a very common practice. Dell had a hold of over $300 on my CC for a camera that was backordered for 2.5 weeks. You should have known better.
Supervisors don't deal with customers because they know that every time, they'll just be dealing with irate customers from all the screw ups.
I've gotten BB to PM stuff a grand total of 1 time out of a bunch of attempts. Every time they were pretty much unwilling to do it because it drove the price well below cost for them. That one time they had to give it because it was one of their own store tags. They even gave me a look like they wanted to deny that one too! Heck, all the other superstores are like that too, except for mebbe Staples. I've had the best luck with Staples PMs.

It is NORMAL for holds to be placed immediately, and it is NORMAL for them to take a few days to clear.
BB is not at fault here, you are.
That being said, it should not result in an overdraft if the funds are merely held. Your available funds may be negative, but the balance should not be.
I was double charged for my GT i-Drive when I bought it, it more than maxed out my available credit, I showed a $0.00 available, but since one of the holds dropped off there was no overdraft fee.
Dell currently has holds on about $1000 of my money, only $350 of which will actually post.

I take it you mean CC=check card, trying to figure out how your credit card was linked to your checking account, anyhow this is standard practice by many merchants, yet another reason I don't use a check card.
That's crap that supervisors don't speak with customers but I have to admit you put yourself in this position by putting it on your check card in the first place.
As others have said, it's your fault, sorry. Did you expect them to just allocate a laptop for someone without first preauthorizing the transaction?

Also because check card transactions are guaranteed to the merchant whether you have the money or not, yet another reason they are so dangerous.
Edit, after reading Viper's post I wonder if this may vary from bank to bank.
Sounds like Viper's bank won't allow you to go negative, where I work you go negative.
It amazes me that it takes them about 2 seconds to pull the cash out of your account, but they need 7 days to put it back. I think it stinks.

I know it sucks but my credit card has the amount available and then the amount I owe. Amount available is limit minus amount I owe MINUS also the amount pre-authorized.
And when somebody preauthorizes but doesn't charge, as mentioned below, it can take several days to go through.
Unfortunately it sucks and I appreciate your annoyance with it all but as mentioned I don't see how BB could have done this any differently. That's how credit cards work...

My bank wont alllow overdrafts on my check card, it will deny the card if I dont have the availalbe cash. Of course my wife works at the bank and may have something to do with this
