I usually have the opposite problem. Wife and I order the exact same thing sometimes and they want to charge for two 6" subs instead of a footlong (two 6" are usually more expensive).

One question. Does the 6" for $1.99 deal in your area have a limit of 1 per customer? If so, then I can see them putitng up a fuss.

Funny story about Subway:

Went in and there was a new girl working the counter. (Could tell by how she handled herself)
Asked for a turkey sub. The girl looks down at the three meats in front of her (turkey, ham, roast beef) blankly, and turns to the person training her.

New girl: (pointing at the ham) "Is that the turkey?"
Trainer: .....no
New girl: (Points at roast beef) "That?"
Trainer:.... no
New Girl: (after a long pause, points at the only remaining meat) "That one?"
Trainer: .....yes.
Me: (slaps forehead)

Sorry to throw that in, but it seems to suggest that there's not much of an entry exam to work at Subway.

One of the exact reasons I bring my business to Quizno's. Plus I prefer their toasted subs... I know you can know get your Subway sandwiches "toasted" (microwaved) but they're just not as good as some of the subs as Quizno's. Plus their online coupons totally kick ass...

Few of life's pleasures are more enjoyable than badgering idiotic employees over things like that. I've gone to McD's and ordered "I'd like 12 McNuggets please." "I'm sorry, we don't sell 12. " "WHAT?! I'm not allowed to purchase 2 6-packs?" "Oh, heh heh, yeah, I guess you could do that <pressing buttons>" "Okay, good. But, lets make it three four-packs instead, since it'll be 80 cents cheaper. " <confused McD's employee staring at screen>

on the 99 cent menu here, it's 4 per pack. (or is it a dollar menu?) But the 6 pack is $1.89

Given a set of {A, B, C}, the chances of finding x if neither A nor B are correct is about 100%.

Well Sasha, I'm not sure what race you are making fun of, as I live in NY and every Subway I go to has different people w/ different nationalities & accents, but you do know that the webmaster/owner of AT isn't a "white-American" w/ blond hair and blue eyes right? ;)

They don't accept anything but cash for the certificates, but they'll accept credit/debit cards for the food.

some people pay with stolen cards or whatever. certificate stays active, but subway would lose the money.

They're changing around Quizno's (suburban Chicago) - they got rid of my godly Ham and Swiss. ;[. Yet, they have Turkey and Swiss on the menu. Hrm.

I dislike subway. Quizno's just tastes better.

My favorite part is when the total comes to something like $4.87 and I hand over $5.12.
"That's too much."
"This way I get a quarter change."
