So my dad left for Mexico (business) a couple of days ago and asks me to use the snowblower on the driveway when it snows. Living in Wisconsin, it snows at least once per week. I go out today to do it and get about 3/4 of the way through when the thing dies. I check the gas tank. Dry. Gee, I wonder if he left any gas for it? The answer: no. So I have to drive to the gas station to get gas in a 5 gallon jug and finish it off. Needless to say, I froze my ass off.

Stupid parents

my dad did that, not so bad once i got a car, but a pain in the ass when i didnt, and hed come home pissed because the yard was half mown

LOL

I made the mistake of trusting my dad to fill it up before he left....too much to ask apparently [personally, I always fill it up when I am done to make sure it is full the next time]

Actually, kiddo, you're not supposed to leave gas in the snowblower or else it congeles (sp?)

We used to have one when I was a child and every winter was the same thing, Daddy cursing because the tank was clogged from not having drained it the year prior.

Since we are in the dead cold of winter right now, I imagine it has been used before this year.

It's not your dad's responsibility to make sure the gas is filled and that there is a tank of gas in the garage if it isn't. Stop depending on your parents for everything!

Dad's food, Dad's paying the bills, Dad's years of paying for stuff, lack of son's gratitude, son's selfishness...hmmm....

So what? You obviously aren't used to responsibility with the type of opinions you're having. Why must someone be rendered helpless when everything isn't in place?

So let me use your argument in a different scenario. Let's say his dad bought him something and it broke. Should he try to fix it on his own or does he need to hold his dad's hand while his dad fixes it because it's his dad's money that bought it, it happened under his dad's roof, and because it happened his dad's at fault?

well can't help it. don't like stupid kids.

such as the OP. he would have saved himself a LOT of trouble if he had just looked and seen if there was gas/oil in the snowblower. Then comes on here to complains about his father.

Now if he came on and said he couldn't get any gas because he does not have a car so couldn't get it done and his father yelled at him for it. then i (and i think most here) would side with him. either way when you are going to do something such as this you should always check the gas, oil etc.

yet another "respect your parents thread"..I wouldn't say his dad is "stupid", but just inconsiderate, or forgetful. Had the same thing happened to me, I would be a little upset, and give my dad a good yelling at when he got home, but he would just laugh at me. Thats what makes it funny. :D Then of course we'd forget about it the next day.

This was far and away the weakest "stupid people" thread ever. I should do a rant about "stupid threads."
