Dads house, dads garage, dads snowblower, dads driveway. hmm...
So what? You obviously aren't used to responsibility with the type of opinions you're having. Why must someone be rendered helpless when everything isn't in place?

So let me use your argument in a different scenario. Let's say his dad bought him something and it broke. Should he try to fix it on his own or does he need to hold his dad's hand while his dad fixes it because it's his dad's money that bought it, it happened under his dad's roof, and because it happened his dad's at fault?

yet another "respect your parents thread"..I wouldn't say his dad is "stupid", but just inconsiderate, or forgetful. Had the same thing happened to me, I would be a little upset, and give my dad a good yelling at when he got home, but he would just laugh at me. Thats what makes it funny. :D Then of course we'd forget about it the next day.

ok, so where do people like you draw the line?? it's OK that he asked you to do PART of the chore (The actual snowblowing part) but the implied part (getting gas) is NOT ok??

the OP was asked to do a chore. the fact that he rants about having to do a part of it that he didn't expect is hilarious and shows a lot of immaturity and disrespect.

Its all "OK", but I like give my dad a hard time, as he likes to do the same. Thats our relationship. He would do the same thing to me, had I asked him to snowblow my driveway, but I left it without gas. He'd give me an earful when I got home, but I'd just laugh at him.

uhh, I guess I was a bit too subtle or something. Note the title of "stupid people" (as in, more than one-------as in my father being the dumbass for not filling it up, and me being the dumbass for not checking it first).

See, I didn't actually post my rant though. So your rant about rants about stupid threads would be completely unwarranted

I would still check because it takes little time to do it and failure to do to is a big hassle (trudging in the snow)

1) you live in wisconson. aren't you supposed to be too used to the snow to whine and moan about it like this?
2) the snow is your responsibility. that means you do whatever it takes to finish the job. complaining about not having enough gas is like complaining that the snow doesn't just part and clear the driveway of its own accord
3) respect your parents, you ingrate.

no one actually BOUGHT that line about the title being about BOTH he AND his dad right?? no one is THAT stupid right??

btw, fwiw, usually when people want to talk about how stupid they themselves were it's usually posted as humor not a rant ESPECIALLY about something as minor as this.

Why the heck should he? If he was leaving for a business trip, I'm sure filling the snow blower was about the last thing on his mind.

I go out today to do it and get about 3/4 of the way through when the thing dies. I check the gas tank. Dry. Gee, I wonder if he left any gas for it? The answer: no. So I have to drive to the gas station to get gas in a 5 gallon jug and finish it off. Needless to say, I froze my ass off.

Stupid parents

wait a sec.... your dad is in Mexico and you are the one freezing your ass off and you think he is the stupid one? hahahahaha

Umm.. yet the CLOSING line of your original post clearly stats "Stupid Parents", in my eyes, and clearly the eyes of nearly every (responsible person here) that lays the blame and the "stupidity" clearly on your parents (father's) shoulders.

BTW, I live in WI too... and I fill my own snowblower and dont bitch about it on forums.
Damn my wife she told me to clear the driveway and didnt even fill the gas tank OR lace up my boots!
