There is a HUGE weight difference and almost no power difference (depending on the car and bike of course - speaking generally). Sorry, but the car, unless it's an elite level Lotus or Bugatti or something like that, hasn't a prayer.

lots of cars have sub 5 second 0-60s. most 250cc street bikes hover around 5-6 second times.

but I get this all the time.. except I seem to get the morons in the WS6 TAs and Corvettes that think thier 12 second+ street car can beat a 9-10 second bike...

dumbasses.. I love when I get one of those tards out in the country where I can REALLY embarrass them with no worries about the law or hurting someone...

they do grudge matches here at the local drag strip and every time I go there some idiot in a stang, jap trash, or some other wanna be muscle car..
ill usually let them leave the light first when wheelie past them down the quarter mile...
nothing like the look on thier face as your front tire goes past them in the air...

people just dont get how fast these bikes are..

0-60 2.2 seconds
0-175 in under 15 seconds..

1/4 mile at 9.80-10.0 secs at 150mph
165 hp and the bike only weighs 300 lbs

It's a 300zx tt.

And yeah, the harley was pretty tame compared to sportbikes, which are insanely fast compared to a car. It probably only ran low 13's.

Yeah..IIRC it was a 900HP Viper and either a tock Hayabusa or one with a modified intake..

A stock Koenigsegg CCR:

Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (0?62 mph) 3.2 seconds
Top speed: 395+ km/h (242+ mph)
Standing quartermile: 9 seconds, end speed 235 km/h (146 mph)

Of course we are talking about a very very expensive car :)

btw busas are pretty slow these days.. they are low on Horsepower compared to the other liter bikes now..
GSXR 1000s spank busas becasue they are lighter with more HP...
so do ZX-10s..
busa is way way way too heavy to be taken seriously as anything but a sport touring bike

there are cars here in Houston that CAN and DO eat bikes..
such as a Henesey Viper with a Vortech supercharger pushing over 1100 hp...
and a CXI Corvette that is running 1300 HP and 400 more in NOS in a C5 body..
they are 8 second cars and will stomp a mudhole even on the street in a bikes ass...

there are a few NASTY Supras outa Dallas that can eat bikes as well..

but again these cars are insanely modified...

stock supercars still cannot keep up with bikes even cars like Mclarens cannot match a liter bike in accelleration or 1/4 mile... they may catch up after a while with thier higher top end but that bike is gonna put some serious lenghts out to over a mile..

Ive raced alot of Ferraris and other high end pasta rockets as well as some German gems.. not one has been able to hang as most drivers are not willing to really see how fast the car will go..

they seem to lose intrest pretty fast when a bike throws 7 lenghts on them in less than 100 feet.

dont you know:
wings add 5hp/1" of height
stickers add 5hp each
and you get 10hp/1" diameter of exhaust pipe
also, when you load as much weight in speakers into it as you can, it also adds hp, not sure on the exact figure /lb
on that note, dB=hp

while true that civic ricers are idiots, so are a ton of motorcyclists i've noticed. they like nothing better than running through residential streets in the middle of the night revving their engines for no other reason than to wake people up and show off their bike.

impromptu street racing means the cops can seize and auction your car off in certain states.

What if your wing is made from shelving parts purchased at the hardware store and your "rims" are just stock wheels spraypainted pink?

they might not be reving.. you do know these engines redline at over 12K rpm...
not your little cars 5k rpm.. bikes are very noisy and shrill and the sound carries a LONG way with race and aftermarket exhausts...
heck even some of the stock exhausts are pretty loud at 8K+

when I IDLE into my neighborhood after a night of Riding I still wake people up just downshifting...
blip the throttle to match RPM for down shifts and the sound carries...
and yes my Exhaust is 49 state legal and is one of the quieter brands out there.

but the guys with Yoshimura and D&D and other "cheaper" pipes theya re VERY loud even during normal riding..

I actually prefer the swerve and bump routine. There's nothing more satisfying than the CRUNCH of rice rocket bikes under your tires, ya know??

I personally drive a pickup truck w/ 4wd. Had a buddy with a souped up stang, with nitrous on it. He was a young speed junky with an attitude, and he told me he'd race me anytime, anywhere. Imagine the look on his face when I told him I'd be happy to race him across a freshly plowed field, right after a rainstorm, any time he wanted!!

LOL, no - on a 35mph residential street like my commute is full of, I'm at 35 in first gear. The civic-kiddies scream that poor little 104hp 4 banger up to around 55-60 before they'll back off.
So even when I beat them up to 35-40, they keep flooring it to 55 and 'smoke' me.

while true that civic ricers are idiots, so are a ton of motorcyclists i've noticed. they like nothing better than running through residential streets in the middle of the night revving their engines for no other reason than to wake people up and show off their bike.

Totally true. There is one such idiot on my street - has a few beers and then wheelies up and down the street (quiet, residential) loudly at 3am. Total jerk. I ride civily and my bike is pretty quiet - and I coast on the smaller streets. Heck, taking it easy on the residential streets is exactly WHY these civic-kiddies keep "smoking" me off the line! :D

THIS IS TRUE! I put them all over my car, watered regularly, and it grew a jet engine!
