btw...what does the "sleep" button on my keyboard do?

you're kidding right?

No..why would I be? I'm sorry to admit I'm not as big of a geek as you all hoped. I really don't know what it does.

The sleep button should put your computer into standby mode (assuming it's been setup to support that).

To get out of sleep mode, you hit the sleep button again. (again, it varies with your configuration)

Locks the computer and puts it into standby mode.

Your baby is being undersused I must say.

Its like putting an exotic sports car in the hands of big bird...
It's kinda weird that you consider it your baby and know so little about it.

I really don't care if people use my computer, but I do care if they start looking through my personal stuff. If you want to play it safe just do what I did, create a separate account and stick any personal stuff in a separate hidden folder and only give that account access to it. Now, if you've got some computer savvy friends then they'll get around that, but asuming that they don't know how to tke ownership of a folder then you should be all set.

Would Big Bird have a carbon-fiber wing?

I don't mind when people use my computer. Except when they use it to print and bring in some disk from the computer lab they used and it inevitably has a virus on it. Even then its no sweat because it gets detected as soon as they put the disk in.

I'm one of those superior type parents, you know "My baby is better than yours." Its just simply true. My only pet peeve is people pointing to something on the screen with their finger and leaving fingerprints. Fingerprints bother me.

I set mine to 5 minutes also. But some people divert my attention away from the room where my computer is...get me to sit in the living room to watch a news story...then sneaks onto my computer before the screensaver pops up.

talk about a sneak. pfffft.
