So on my way home tonight (~4am), driving the speed limit for a change, when a sedan comes speeding up to me on the otherwise empty interstate. The car had emergency lights, but I couldn't see the color, so I assumed it was a cop. He got in my lane and came up behind me, and continued to drive maybe ~2 feet behind me for a minute.... like cops do when running your plates/intimidating you. Once I saw him turn off behind me I could see that is was a rent-a-cop... Me and my friend seriously considered turning around and ruining his night. I hate people on a power trip. Arrrrgh :disgust:
Next time I see a rent-a-cop I'm going to remind them that they are utterly useless beings.

So, get his licence plate number and report him to REAL cops. Also, contact the rent-a-acopy agency and ask to speak to a manager. Let them know how their employee was driving.

If they have "jurisdiction" in that area, yes. If you leave his jurisdiction he can call the police and have them pull you over.

My guess is that the guy was just driving down the freeway minding his own business, and you are overreacting about the whole thing.

Don't forget that sometimes Rent-a-cops are just that... REAL COPS working a second job to make ends meet. If you do happen to get a real cop... he can arrest you, pull a gun, or detain you.

Rent-a-cops have interesting concepts of what they can do. You really have to worry when they're REAL cops off duty (Pretty common with high-end targets like jewlery stores and banks - not very much so at Walmart)

My friends and I used to love messing with the mall security that drives around the parking lot after hours. We'd just start driving in a big circle in the parking lot, and obviously the guy would wanna know what the hell is going on, so he'd flip on his lights then come our way. We'd immediately drive off, and leave the mall parking lot. Then we'd come back about 20 minutes later and just drive through, right by them. They'd turn around as fast as they could and we'd just drive off the lot again.

Man, thinking about it, that didn't sound like a real smart idea. But it was fun at the time. :)

I would had to turn around to get his plate. I'd just rather drive home because I'd probably end up doing something stupid if I confronted him.
Nice big fat BRAKE CHECK would have been in order.
....I couldn't tell if it was a real cop or not. Brake checking a real cop would be a bad thing.

Horrible guess. I was watching the guy for a while, and he was driving ~80 in the far left lane. He got over into my lane (far right) at the last second, slowed down to ~65 and drove ~2 feet behind me for a minute. There was no one else on the interstate so he could have just passed me. Either he was trying to freak me out or he is the worst driver in the world.

That is not bad, once rent-a-cop stopped traffic as they where escorting cars and when light turn green for me I just went while the rent-a-cop screaming stop, I made sure I could make it before slamming on the gas. After I went across the intersection the cop had really strange face expression like if I could I would arrest you

This is hella funny. I can just see a car driving in and out of the lot with fat guys trying to chase after them.
