So far, I mistakenly deleted all my old lotus mail from 2003 and older. And I'm getting a "Database has not been open yet" every time I open my lotus mail. Seen to work despite the error.

"What the hell is PC LOAD LETTER??" :D

I gave NotesBuddy a try once and thought it was just a SameTime alternative. How powerful is the mail features (before I go and try a re-install) ? It's not just a reader, is it ? Does it also let you manage folders (like filing into, and expiration rules, etc.) ?

My verdict on Lotus Notes is that it is, alright. The last version I used was R5, and when I went back to Outlook (moved to a different company) it was like a breath of fresh air! ESPECIALLY with the release of Outlook 2003, I don't know why people don't just dump Lotus Notes.

NotesBuddy is pretty cool. Just the IM features are more advanced than plain ole' Sametime (but for most of the cool features the other person should also have NotesBuddy installed). You can setup NotesBuddy for both Lotus Notes mail as well as POP3 mail. I don't know if you would call it a fully functional mail client, but you can compose and send mails from it apart from filing your mails. I am not sure if you can manage folders and expiration rules - will try it out today from work and let you know, if you're interested!

Blotus Goats sucks ass. When it crashes, I gotta launch task manager to close out nupdate, nminder and the other associated apps running in the background. POS!

Killnotes.exe is your friend :) I found it better than ZapNotes. Let me know if you need the exe - it kills all unterminated Notes processes when you run it.
