We just had an email migration to Lotus Notes from MS Exchange.

We used to have both Lotus and MS Exchange, with different email address.

Now, after the migration,

1. My old Lotus mail are gone/hidden
2. My old Exchange mail are gone (Good thing I saved the PST file before the migration, but the bastards uninstalled outlook/exchange from my computer)
3. I'm still getting 300+ junk mails (get Viagra, Vicodon, enlarge my penis..etc) that's sent to my old exchange email forwarded to my new Lotus Notes!
4. I don't know how to use Lotus Notes, I guess I'll get used to it.

While the virus bit is true I'd rather deal with a few virus notifications that the POS Notes software.

Lotus Notes is a POS, I hate it, too.

Not to mention it's an absolute resource hog

Yeah, we've got it at work. Its absolute trash. It runs slow as hell, takes forever to load and is way more complicated than the vast majority of users need. It has a lot of features, but you have to be a PHD in notes to actually figure out how to implement the advanced ones...so most users just don't use them. I'd rather deal with the viruses. At least the MS junk actually works and doesn't slow the computer to standstill.

Lotus Notes is EVIL!!! I had the misfortune to use that piece of crapware for a year and a half. Outlook rules over Notes.

I just got a thick manual, "welcome to Lotus 6.0 & Sametime". Perhaps it'll show me how to get Sametime to bypass the proxy server to work with AIM.

Geeze, who reads manual anyway?

Use it everyday and we're not changing for obvious reasons... I despise it... SO SLOOOOOOW. The one upside is security over Exchange though.

Notes took me a few months to get used to when I first started using it in 2000. I've never seen an app that uses the escape key so much. ;)

Sametime is pretty good... there should be AIM integration with it also... is it ST version 3.0 ?

Who the hell migrates from Exchange to Lotus? UGH!

smart business who want true groupware and workflow automation.
...and a likes to give their IT staff lots of headaches. ;)

And enjoy having to purchase twice the machine to run mundane tasks at a reasonable speed.

Both Lotus Notes and MS Outlook/Exchange are crap.
Well there's an intelligent post. So what do you recommend?

Mercury Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird.
Yeah that'll go over well with the executives in an enterprise setting. ;)

I recall there was AIM integration with that also. Is there nothing about "Log on to AOL Instant Messenger" under the "People" menu item ? I don't think they specially created our deployment unless they took it out of yours.
