1) you should take your crappy job less seriously, leave it at the workplace, jesus.
2) The End

i second it.

really, they over-charge for what you admit to be simple work. be happy these people dont know what they are doing or else they wouldnt need you and your pissant superior attitude.
get over it or get a new job.

"and he looks at her, and decides he wants to live..."

Completely off topic - I've heard that BB employees get a pretty good deal. (the rumor is something like 5% over cost?)

So does that mean I can start working there, and the next week buy a $4000 plasma TV for cheap? And how cheap is cheap?

I'm being completely serious, I really want to know if this is a feasible way to save money or not.

If *any* person ... Best Buy tech support, or *any* one treated me with that attitude, there would be a MAJOR problem. One that would include the store manager, area manager and regional manager.

Customer service ppl are paid to give service to the customer. Given that the majority of ppl are moronic, if someone cannot yes ppl to death, they need to be in a different postion.

sheesh, if it were not for the moronic ppl that buy BB stuff at inflated prices and are silly enuf to go for the extended warranty, there would be nothing to bit*h about would there.

*whew* my rant over.

The end.

No. You must work there at least 30 days.

Well it is either pay that or open up your own computer, and probably screw it over by you pulling something out when you shouldn't. Or just something dropping in to the case etc.

What the hell are you doing on Anandtech? I thought you were required to have a basic knowledge of hardware before creating an account here.
:D LOL :D

I swapped a CDROM drive in my brother's computer today, and he bought me lunch! <Happy Grin>

That seems obvious.

And I just got another reason not to shop at Best Buy, not like I needed one. I would never shop there anyway, the place seems custom-tailored to needs of the computer illiterate, which I am not.
I can install my own RAM and fix my own systems (almost certainly better than any minimum wage Best Buy "tech"), thank you very much.

And why don't I shop at Best Buy? Simple, the "techs" and "salespeople" are not only arrogant, rude, and incompetent but also (most importantly) they have the worst return policy in the business PERIOD. Buy a DOA product at Best Buy and expect to do a simple exchange? Good fsckin' luck! If you want away with the exchange without being accused of theft or having broken the product yourself, count yourself lucky. IMO, Best Buy knowingly sells DOA products right out the door just to screw people on the returns/exchanges.
In the meantime, if I buy something at Fry's who (in the amazingly rare event that their price is higher) will actually price-match and do returns/exchanges without complaint or hassle.

I will cheer the day Best Buy goes out of business and all their nasty bad-attitude employees get tossed onto the unemployment line...

opening up a pc case/adding/switch out parts are similar to what car mechanics do to car.

The majority ppl don't want to do it or don't know how to do it.

That creates a market for such service at Retail store. <- charging A LOT for doing stuff more knowledgeable ppl can do in 5 mins.

always RTFM.

Q. How many Beast Bite techs does it take to screw a lightbulb?

A. None. Beast Bite techs only screw each other.

Swapping out the parts is easy.
Figuring out which parts to swap out can be much more difficult.

Take a deep breath bud, I feel your pain.
Having to deal with the public sucks, they should pay customer service people much much more imho, my next job I hope to be locked in a server room with no outside contact or light preferably.

I still laughed when I think of how BB offered me a $5.99 warranty on a $9.99 answering machine. ROFL.
