seen so many people on campus who are dressed up like they are just coming out of a fashion show...i even asked one of my friends...who happens to be a guy...how long it takes to get ready and he proudly replies about 1.5 hours...it takes me about an hour...IF I WERE GETTING READY TO GO OUT and had to take a shower and go through the whole 9 yards...but 1.5 hours to get ready for school? you wanna look good...thats fine...but there's a limit to everything...

how is it an insult that you misread or failed to comprehend a post? its just a mistake that all humans make. its just another trait like selective hearing or not answering a question for whatever reason.

I'm the one that said that, and your guess is incorrect. An alpha males doesn't need to be bothered by the whiny-bitch type of guy, and he doesn't need to act like a neanderthal, either. The scolded-runt type is a lesser man who must use a crutch to compete in life. The alpha type doesn't need to put on an act. People respect him for what he is. When he talks, people listen. Look at Steve Jobs. I'm no Mac fan but look at his effect over people. He's a natural leader. People say he's got a reality distortion field around him for God's sake.

what? how do you think any venture in anything becomes successfull? someone takes the alpha role and leads. doesnt necessarily have to be a male, as many women are just as capable as men, but the alpha role is necessary none the less.

as pointed out, i didnt originallly say that. but the sentiment in my post still stands. any venture, not just business, requires someone to take the alpha role. be it purely survival, winning a softball game, or leading microsoft.

An hour? It takes me half an hour from the time I get out of bed to the time I'm out the door, showered, dressed, and everything. Of course, I don't eat breakfast, I'd rather sleep in

An hour to get ready sounds like a long time. When I'm going out and actually care how I look, it takes 20 mins, 25mins tops if I shave. Shower, shave, put some pants on, put on a shirt, some deodorent, and a spray of cologne. Make sure I have my id and money, and I'm out the door. What do people spend 1.5 hours doing???

I think you're operating on wishful thinking here. I've gotten a lot of action (since I got out of that sexual dry spell known as marriage) and I'm a pretty typical guy. Ratty jeans, ratty t-shirts usually of the Harley/Sturgis/biker variety. Messy hair, hairy chest, even getting quite a bit on my back. I clean up for work, but I'm not sweet smelling otherwise, either smelling of gas and oil or sweat. I've often got road grime on my face from riding. And the best of it, I get a farmer tan. I'm of northern European descent and very light skinned. I burn easily, but I wear t-shirts when I'm out riding and get tanned/burned forearms.

You'd be shocked at how much action I got. So either I'm truly god's gift to women, or not all women fall for that metro routine.

I think that's exactly the point. Society seems intent on turning all men into metrosexuals. It's because it IS a trend that it's being ripped apart by some. Shows like Queer Eye make it appear that society now actually frowns on acting masculine. It's not about doing what you want to do and being yourself, the message is that you have to be fruity. If my wife invited a bunch of flaming homos into our house, and they proceeded to throw out all the things I love, two things would happen. First I'd kick the ass of everyone near me. Then I'd find a divorce lawyer.

If the whole point of "metrosexual" was to show that men could do those things and still be men, then why is that lifestyle being foisted upon every man, regardless of their wants?

in my opinion there is a difference betweeen being clean and decently dressed and being a flaming metrosexual.

One of my friends is borderline metro, i, as well as just about everone else, thinks its hilarious in a very pathetic way. I have never seen someones girlfriend have to wait for the guy to get ready or have the guy consistant outdress the girl.

I try to keep myself somewhere in the middle. Clean but not gay.
