10/25 i order a 512mb sd card with a 20 rebate, rebate needs to be postmarked before 2nd week of purchase
10/26 i receive a tracking # (yay!) and they even charged my credit card. tracking # says usps notified of shipment, etc, etc...

11/8 no card. same info from tracking # "usps notified of shipment, etc, etc..."
11/15 still no card. look on website, says to submit a claim it takes 21 days after notice of shipping. okie...
11/23 i go on the website to submit a claim
11/30 i call them to see whats going on. csr (in incomprehensible english) says they cant do anything about it now since i submitted a claim, and i have to wait 15 days to find out what happened to my order. i tell them that my rebate is invalid, and the csr says they cant do anything and i have to wait for the result of my claim.


WTF?! its taking > 1 month to get something that should have come in a couple days? its a freakin' memory card!! the rebate's invalid now, and the csr's aren't doing anything for their customer. the tracking # still says "usps notified of shipment, etc, etc..." which basically means that the usps were notified of getting such an item with that #, but they haven't received it yet :| :| :|

I've never had a problem with Buy.com. I actually just received my rebate check from Kingston for the SD card I ordered from Buy.com a month ago. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, though.

I get a bunch of gift certificates for there from doing online surveys and they've always been quick with my orders, so I won't complain.

I did that before too when they screwed up a memory card for my camera. Contacted the BB or FTC or something who contacted Buy who contacted me and they credited my account.

haha buy.com. they dont give a rat's ass about their customers. this is my experience with buy.com...

My worst online shopping experience to date. Placed an order for a graphics card on 8/9/04 and utilized a $15 off online coupon (buy.com claimed item was in stock at time of order). When my item still hadnt shipped by morning of 8/12/04 (item still showed in stock on webpage), I decided to give them a call. CSR was useless in helping me and basically told me that item is in backorder and she has no clue when they will ship. So fearing the worst, I went back to the webpage and cancelled my order...item immediately went into "cancellation requested" stage.

That evening (8/12/04) I got an email saying that my order was cancelled. When i went back into the orderdetails the next day, saw that they had only cancelled my coupon and shipped my graphics card. WTF?!?

So not only do they keep me in the dark for 3 days, ship my order after I cancelled it, but they only cancel half my order...the coupon...the part that would benefit them!! What a bunch of crooks. I will NEVER shop at buy.com ever again and will tell all my friends to stay away from them also!

Just checked my CC bill...they charged me $290...item was supposed to be $275 shipped. I just refused shipment of the item. Lets see how long it takes buy.com to refund me my money. AND oh yeah, I spoke to a CSR called SONYA and she told me I will be refunded ALL my money, including cost of shipping. Lets see how true that statement is!

btw...after a month of waiting, and still not receiving the credit, i had to open up a investigation with AMEX. they got me my money back.
i still get multiple emails from buy.com regarding their tempting offers. but they all go straight to my spam box

My last order was for a bunch of books, after the order, they informed me most of what I wanted was out of stock, wouldn't cancel my order, and sent me the books over a 3 month period.

What a joke.

I got a kingston 512MB SD Card from them (with rebate) a month or two back as well and that came through ok.

Can't you still cancel the order ?

they've been alright for me. i think it'll work out for you in the end but its just a pita right now.

i've nevered like buy.com

it seems like things get ordered and you just wait. and the packaging on the products i did receive from them were average at best. usually small cuts and dents in the box.

I had to dispute a credit card charge due to buy.com's incompitence. They gave me sh!t about returning the product, too (you only have 20 days from like the invoice or something like that) and I got my credit dispute in the mail 19 days after I called them about it. Basically, they're scum and you should stay as far away as possible. Total failure to work with me, I even told them on the phone that I was going to dispute the charge if they didn't fix their mistake and they didn't give damn; even the manager didn't care! FVCK YOU BUY.COM :|

Well, on the bright side, I haven't ordered from them, and now I never will. So, while they are pissing you off, remember your story and some of these other ones which were prompted by it are going to cost them money. So be happy you have turned at least one person away from using them.

never again will i order from them. i've had a few brushes with them but i had to get an ipod for the gf's xmas present cuz i had a coupon. it saved me some money but i just had to order from them even though their CS are dumb

I ordered some speakers once that listed in stock. The site continued to list in stock for the next 6 days. My order still had not shipped. Two weeks after they listed the item out of stock, and 3 weeks after i ordered, they shipped. Emailing them was worthless b/c they just responded with a link to the order status page. Seems like it's hit or miss with buy.com. I wouldn't order from them if time was a big issue, and anything with rebates is iffy at best.

yeah i suppose i could. but what a freakin' waste of time waiting for it all this long. and they even charged my credit card already, i want RETRIBUTION

its not even a case of the USPS losing it in shipping. USPS NEVER GOT THE PACKAGE FROM BUY.COM!!!
