OK WTF?!?!? Im sure you guys all read the other thread about the lions hiring mariucci as their head coach. Jessie jackass now comes along and says no no it was discrimination blah blah blah and is startin shiat with the lions?!?! Thats stupid BS!!!! 2 out of 30 coachs in NFL are black I think it said. That normal fluctuates of course, usually more then 2... Thats 1/15 of the coaches are black. While only 1/10th of the population is black. Are people not seeing what Im saying? Why is it that we have to have fricken 50% black coaches when the black population only makes up 10% of the population? Its frickin ludicrous I tell ya, Ludicrous!!!! IS anyoneelse not seeing a problem with this? WHY OH WHY OH WHY ARE THEIR IDIOTS LIKE THAT IN THIS WO.RLD?!?!?!?

*Note* Spelling/Punctuation/any other gramatical things dont matter in a rant!

between 2 and 4! Dennis Green was coaching last year. Marvin lewis was coaching a ways back. Tony Dungy. Heck I can think of just as many black coaches as I can white.

Why aren't whites complaining about us not having as many whites in the NBA?>!?!?!? I don't get the double standard here!

75% of the players are black and 100% of the NFL coaches were former players and 95% of the coaches are white. Does that compute?

What year were there 4 black head coaches ? Not saying there weren't, just asking.

BTW, I just thought the fluctuating comment was funny. I don't think a coach's skin color matters.

It's saying that 5% black coaches is showing a bias.

I dont think it is...some people can play the game and be awesome but just dont have the talent to coach.

It does if blacks are better players and whites are better managers.

Ya that sounds good but the fact is there is hundreds of great black coaches waiting thier chance. Eddie Robinson
ring a bell, and he was never even offered a big name college job.

Listen to Howey long or trent dilfer or the other former white HFL players on ESPN sometime they even admit a bias exists. Only little pencil necks who never been there feel otherwise.

No, it doesn't compute. There needs to be more white players, wheres the quota system for whites? That is what you are talking about, right?

Some random thoughts...

1. JJ made this worse by raising a stink over the Ray Rhodes firing. Any owner will get more flak from firing a black head coach than they will from not hiring one. IMHO, the Mooch was more successful than Rhodes was and nobody is crying racism over his firing like they did for Rhodes. I know that is a BS comparison, but if Mooch had been black, you would see headlines over how racist the 49'ers owners are.

2. Black NFL players have all the power here. They can simply to refuse to play for a white coach, or play for less money for a black HC.

3. There are enough smart owners that they will hire a black HC if he is good enough. Being a great assistant coach does not guarantee that you will be a good HC, let alone a great one. People need to remember that being a great head coach has alot more to do with than just calling plays. A HC runs a lot of the football operations, and many assistant coaches just cant handle all the added work and responsibility. This is just like you cant take the best worker in your department and assume they will be a good manager.

I can quantify what makes a good player by watching some film and doing some field work with them. And the best get there, always. How you do that with coaches?

Wins? Well then eddie robinson should be making 14 million a year as an NFL coach.

100% of the NFL coaches were NOT players. So that statement is Nul. The fact of the matter still is that 1/15 of the coaches are black, while 1/10th of the population are black. Thats really close. And in the Lions specific case. They wanted Maruicci, whats the big freagin deal?!?!? He was the coach they wanted for sure, they didnt need to have any interviews. There is more to coaching then just wins. There is how well you handle yourself off the field, and how well you get along with the owner and other factors. So Eddie Robinson may, or may not be the type of coach owners are looking for. But you can't complain that you can't refuse to hire someone based on whether or not you like someone because Jimmy Jones was fired by Dallas because he didnt get along with the owner. And JJ was one of the best coaches at the time.

Give up this race crap. We all love our children, love freedom, and bleed red blood. We are all of the brotherhood of man. Give people credit for their works and deeds, not the color of their skin or the slant of their eyes. It's high time the young usher in a new world, void of racism and backbiting of their forfathers. Evertime I see someone jump all over Jessie Jackson, I just want to slap the piss out of them, because #1, they don't listen to what he says, they just bash him because of the color of his skin and the fact he is against racism and for equality. And #2, the fathers have been racist and it has filtered down generation to generation. Time to change. And the change comes from within each and everyone of you. You must make the change in you, and when that is accomplished, this world will be a much better place, and the war we are about to get into will not be necessary again, because respect for human dignity should prevail.

It starts when we teach our children respect , and threads titled like this one do not show respect. If a white man spoke of the same things as Jessie Jackson, would you be so quick to find fault? I don't think so.

I agree with you, we all bleed the same color. Thats exactly my point. Im not jumping on jackson because of the color of his skin, Im jumping on him because HE is the racist. Why is HE causing such a big deal over the Lions wanting Mariucci, instead of one of his boys? We are all the same, if we stop making a big lawsuit about it (JACKSON) then we won't have a problem. Well we might, but it will be smaller atleast.
