75% of the players are black and 100% of the NFL coaches were former players. Does that compute?

whats that saying..thos who can..play..those who cant..coach

It's saying that 5% black coaches is showing a bias.
What a load of crap

You know, if you're constantly looking everywhere you can for bias, pretty soon that's all you're going to see.

"...100% of the NFL coaches were former players..."

Not quite. Gruden and Marriucci immediately come to mind, and I know there are several more.

"75% of the players are black ..."

Most head coaches in the NFL are in their late forties to early sixties, meaning most began their football careers (if they played in the NFL at all) between 1960 and 1985. What was the racial makeup of the NFL back then?

The NFL has made huge strides towards equality since the middle of last century. It's not perfect, but that doesn't have to mean the NFL is biased, either. How many teams had black starting quarterbacks fifteen years ago? I can think of two. How many teams have black starting quarterbacks now?
In 1980, there were 14 Black assistants in the NFL, none of them coordinators. By 1997, there were 103 Black assistants. Now, 154 of the 547 assistants (28 percent) are Black. Twelve of those are coordinators, up from with five coordinators in 1997.

He is a joke. I am white and he has been a joke to me for years! For Superbowl we had a good mix of folks at my house and some black friends agreed with my point 100%. I don't know who listens to him anymore anyway.

Cuda, the initiative to push more minority coaches into the head coaching position was started to change the mindset that's just like yours. And... why do you bother saying that only 1/10 of the U.S. population is black? I mean... Have you actually watched an NFL game? Stare into the faces behind the facemask sometime? You see that many white guys out there on the field? What makes you say that the white coaches are better coaches than the black counterparts? Did the Jets make it to the playoffs? How about the Colts? If you're gonna use the one game(The Super Bowl) as the sole example to demonstrate that white coaches are better, then I should say that every team coached by a black head coach can make the playoffs. The league's best team was coached by a white man, yes. But so was the worst team in the league this year. In fact, every sorry ass team that didn't make it to the playoffs this year had a white guy at the top. What does this mean??? I don't agree with JJ's latest remark, but for the most part the black assistant coaches who have been passed over want to get a chance. A serious look from the owners.
