How is having a job someone likes along with feeling good about the clothes you are wearing an "unattractive" attitude. This is simply turning into a jealously thread. If you have the money and like the clothes, who cares what people buy.

Because she is always complaining about not having money. She cant go anywhere, like to the movies with a bunch of us because she doesn't have the money. I wear name brand stuff too, but my whole wardrobe doesn't consist of it. She's all about image, and its fake. She's fake.

She sounds like my ex-gf. And YES - it is a VERY unattractive quality for a woman to have.

Oh - and the original poster needs to grow a spine and some thick skin if the meanies at school calling him names bothers him. That's life, and it doesn't mean jacksh!t in the grand scheme of things. Just blow it off...or get even :D

I don't like most of the stuff because a lot of it looks wrinkled and as if it was pulled from the dirty laundry basket.
If it looks that bad new what does it look like later?

I like girls that wear Abercrombie & Fitch - I'd take her if I had one wish.

News flash guys, when you're out of highschool, VERY FEW PEOPLE care what brand of clothes you wear. My senior year of HS, A&F stuff became popular all of a sudden, everyone was wearing it. There was some of the "well you don't wear A&F, therefore you must not be able to afford it, and thusly cant hang out with me" mentality.

Then in college, no one cared. Sure, people still wore it, but you weren't excluded if you didn't.

Now I'm working. I don't even notice my cow-orkers clothes (just the fact they have them on).

I'm a big fan of AE myself, they're one of the few companies that actually have pants with a 38 inseam, and because they don't sell a lot of them in the stores, they always have them on the website on clearance :)

Fun Fact - A&F used to be an expedition outfitter, supplying gear to Teddy Rosevelt's safari's.

All the Abercrombie hate here is based on a lack of understanding of 2 things:

1. Fashion
2. Marketing

Yep, they're selling lots of worn-looking clothes to consumers for a price, but apparently you don't know that there are other companies that sell similar jeans for well over $100 and people pay that as well. There are lots of clothing that is beyond comprehension when it comes to pricing, and Abercrombie is at the VERY bottom of this group.... possibly not even a part of it. Start shopping at some large stores or reading men's magazines that have fashion sections and you'll see how truly expensive clothing can get.... And who cares? Some people probably think the people here who devote so much time and money into their computers are crazy as well!

As for "posts porn all over malls" -- I'd like to see evidence of that. I have never seen any Abercrombie advertisements in a mall outside of the store. The stores do have male models that occasionally don't have shirts on - PORN?

2 words: sex sells

I can still remember going to their store in the mall and looking at the safari type stuff as a kid. They had these leather animals in there that I used to like to sit on. While it is perfectly legitimate, it's kind of misleading that A&F can say "Abercrombie, since 19XX" or whatever year it is since they have only been making the teen clothes for less than 10 years.

What I don't get is that people bash A&F instead of Prada or Gucci or the like. Their clothes are 10x more expensive and you really are paying for the name. The few things I have from A&F(A shirt and two pairs of cargo pants) I have had for almost 5 years now. They have held up really good and are very comfortable. I don't shop there anymore because I don't like their trends or fashion, but I don't care if someone else does. I have never set there and said "oh look someone isn't wearing brand x, so they must be poor." See that is an inferiority complex. I am not saying some people don't think that way, but they are typically a bastard in anything they do. They are the school bully, they are the guy that everyone loves to hate and the chicks only like because he is an asshole.

A&F is by no means expensive clothing. If you want expensive clothing start looking at some nicer Designers and the like. Ralph Lauren has crap that is sold outside of department stores that is crazy in price. Gucci and Prada I have already mentioned, but look at the price they charge you for jeans. Express for Men has gotten really expensive now, but I don't like their style much anymore anyways.

Who cares what brand you wear? Why does it matter? The only reason it matters to you is because it bothers you. If someone wants to wear it then that is their deal. I am sure they don't care what you are wearing anymore. Once you get out of High School you will see no one gives a rat's ass what kind of clothing you are wearing. Well, that isn't 100% true, but peers aren't going to attack you for not wearing a popular label. One suggestion: Don't dress like an idiot in Kmart clothes or be "that guy" that dresses like a flashback to the 80's. Get a sense of style people it isn't that hard. A Pac-Man t-shirt and jeans doesn't cut it anymore.

I like their clothes... worn out and washed out. Hollister and American Eagle (a bit less expensive) have the same style as Abercrombie.

It really depends on what you like. Personally, I'd hate spending 50 bucks on some Polo or Tommy Hillfiger shirt. I'd rather spend 25 bucks on a worn out t-shirt ;)

yeah, but she's hot. also, is your name a reference to the "llelo"

WTF does that have to do with anything?

Looks wont get you an education, like she so badly wants. Her tanning and obsessive clothes buying addiction has costed her to go to a community college. I'm sure she's get a great education there, but she has potential to be better than that.

No my name is no reference to llelo, I have no idea what that is.

Yeah but she might marry someone with money, mature, and be happy. You on the other hand remain bitter. Are you a tad bit jealous?

I went into one the other day and didn't even recognize any of the clothes in there; I thought I was shopping in a thrift store.

YES! SOMEONE THAT HAS MY VIEW!

i used to buy a lot of AF clothes two or three years ago - the clothes were more normal looking. the shirts didn't look like they would fall apart, i didn't have to lace up half of the jeans to put them on, and the word "abercrombie" was written small and tastefully, and not in ugly script with glitter all across the front, with a DEEP v neck cut. i still have some AF shirts that have lasted this long, but i don't go in there as much anymore. the music first off drives me nuts, the hordes of teenagers paying 40 bucks for a shirt drives me bananas, and the mothers plunking down 200 dollars for one pair of pants and two shirts drives me more insane because my mother would have killed me before spending 80 dollars on a pair of jeans.

their clothes have become extremely trendy. my last refuge was american eagle, but alas now american eagle has gone that trendy route too. no more "tasteful" clothing. it is now all about "how little we can sell at the highest price." the shirts are sheer, they are extremely low cut, and very form fitting.

i don't know if this happens to anyone, but i have ONE pair of jeans from AF. i had to go a size smaller and they were still too big for me. the shirts even the largest size barely fit me. i was going "wtf" huge pants and tiny shirts? what is af advocating here? big behinds and tiny waists?

last time i checked, AF owned hollister.

now i live in gap and banana. too bad i'm broke as heck at the moment.

Now i know parents shouldnt be letting their kids spend more of their money than they can afford on clothing, but seriously it's sad that a lot of people i know have been made fun of for not wearing abercrombie clothing, i mean how friggin pathetic is that? Besides the fact that abercrombie is a very racist company, and posts porn all over malls, even though they are a clothing company. People all wear these 50 dollar pre-worn out tshirts, like clones, even though they arnt aware of it.

I mean honestly, it's not just a waste of money, it's like people are insanly manipulated by brand names these days and become what many people define as aberzombies. see http://www.aberzombie.com. not saying there is anything bout prefering a certain brand of something, but seriously, being obsessed and only buying from one company and not accepting others who do not want to pay outragous prices for the clothing or even making fun of them is ridiculus.

Sorry if this is a report, but i needed to rant bout it lol i wanna hear peoples opinions and dont wanna be flamed although i dun think i offended anyone directly.... i hope lol

The funny thing is, you think this is new and unique to A&F. It's been going on for generations. The only thing that changes is the style of the clothes and the companies in favor.

Other companies that have dominated the market with over priced crap:

Polo
Hilfiger
Ocean Pacific (REAL big when I was in middle school (early 80s)
Izod

I could go on and on and on. But each of these companies have held the same place A&F holds today. Fads come and go, and so do the companies that sell them. Sure, many companies who's clothes were fads years ago are still in business... but at one time, they held the spot that A&F holds today.

When you have someone who constantly complains about not having money to go to family functions, join in fun outings with friends to go to the movies for $12 that's a little ridiculous.

I'm not a jealous person, I love her she's one of my favorites out of our family. She's always asking for advice on how to "manage" so we tell her but she continues to do the things that are costing her the money because she is that much shallow that she would rather put her image before anything else.

What is there to be jealous about?

I'm not bitter in the least, concerned maybe. She isn't going anywhere except for a ride on the pity wagon. She plans to marry her long time boyfriend once they are out of school, they are mature as far as I can tell (aside her stupid decision making) and they are happy. I already have all that, so I think you are getting the wrong impression.

It just seemed like sour grapes to me. I typically let people screw up on their own after I warn them a few times. If you say it is out of concern then who am I to argue?

I think the whole A&F thing is funny because I go to school and 3 or 4 guys are wearing the exact same outfit. Same shirt, same faded jeans. I don't shop there but I could care less if other people choose to.

Since when is shopping at the mall deplorable? oh yea, as soon as you log into a geek forum.
I shop at A&F, AE, and BR, and guess what, i buy brand new clothes with no discount.
I would never look down on people who obviously paid $10 for the 5 t-shirts they cycle through, and I think its silly for those people to laugh at my taste in clothes. Its like some punk rock kid telling me not to listen to pop.
