Ok, I hear the comments saying "wear what everyone else wears." Well, isn't wearing Ralph Lauren "wearing what everyone else wears." I see tons of people wearing Ralph Lauren clothes or what about Levis? I see so many people wearing those brands....why? Is it because everyone else is wearing them? Maybe not, it must be the pricing since Abercrombie is soooo expensive....yet I see Ralph Lauren stuff just as expensive and Levis...yep. I've seen $40 shirts, $60 jeans, etc.

Now about the whole worn in look/faded/distressed/whatever close manufacturers want to call it. If you want to buy jeans with a hold through them or a hat thats tattered or some jeans that looked old and worn out, go for it. It's the 'style' of that particular clothing, brand, etc. People do know they are buying 'pre worn' clothing.

People are saying Abercrombie plasters their name all over their clothes. I see the same thing from Nike, Polo, Levi, etc. I have a pair of Levi pants and on the cargo pocket it says silvertab, on my windbreaker there is a Nike swoosh sign on it. So many of the clothing companies are similar since they seem to plaster logos or names on their clothes. The clothing doesnt even have to be a brand name and companies will still put their name on it since some of the stuff you can find at target or walmart has the company's name on the clothing.

I do agree with the fact that when people are made fun of beacause they arent wearing a particular brand, being Abercrombie or whatever other company, is stupid. Some people might not like the style or not have the money dont want to spend the money on clothes.

Basically, you arent pissed off at Abercrombie, you are pissed off at the whole clothing industry and anyone who puts names on their clothing. The fact is, is that brands sell and there is no getting around that. People may associate quality, or lack there of with different brands. Same thing can go for electronics..for example, Sony. Sony usually charges a slight premium on their products because its a brand name.

I really do not have an opinion about what clothes brand people wear. And I am puzzled why anyone would care.

It is a waste of money blowing it on clothes that are showy. Also I personally think clothes that advertise the brand name are, in all cases, exceedingly gay. It's a very superficial and sad thing - to need to advertise what you're wearing (not to mention being a free billboard for the company). I, for years, have refused to wear clothes that advertise the brand name. I think it breaks up an otherwise attractice pattern on the material. It would be like buying a new car and having huge FORD Letters across the door. It's ridiculous.

Eitherway as these teens grow up most will stop caring what brand name clothes somebody else is wearing, because there is far more to life than where they bought their last t-shirt.

Now i know parents shouldnt be letting their kids spend more of their money than they can afford on clothing, but seriously it's sad that a lot of people i know have been made fun of for not wearing abercrombie clothing, i mean how friggin pathetic is that? Besides the fact that abercrombie is a very racist company, and posts porn all over malls, even though they are a clothing company. People all wear these 50 dollar pre-worn out tshirts, like clones, even though they arnt aware of it.

I mean honestly, it's not just a waste of money, it's like people are insanly manipulated by brand names these days and become what many people define as aberzombies. see http://www.aberzombie.com. not saying there is anything bout prefering a certain brand of something, but seriously, being obsessed and only buying from one company and not accepting others who do not want to pay outragous prices for the clothing or even making fun of them is ridiculus.

Sorry if this is a report, but i needed to rant bout it lol i wanna hear peoples opinions and dont wanna be flamed although i dun think i offended anyone directly.... i hope lol

I totally agree, man. Why pay money to advertise them? Fvck that. If I'm going to do that I'll do it with a cool company. This is why I only wear music, gaming or movie shirts. Fvck Nike, Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle and whatever other clothes these teenyboppers make their parents spend their hard-earned dollars on to make them fit in at school. FVCK THAT!

My problem is that they're way too bland and boring for the money, let alone the crappy quality of the clothes, but then again I really could care less if someone wears them. Kinda reminds me of how we fashion whores feel about Prada (ugh), and suit whores feel about Armani (ugh) though, only those brands are about 10x as expensive and hyped. Paying $40 for a logo tshirt is one thing, watching people pay $1500 for a crappy suit or $400 for a crappy pair of sneakers with a logo is downright infuriating.

Barring the whole "conforming to society" spiel (people can buy whatever the hell they want), A&F has gone downhill in the past two years, in my opinion. I used to like their tshirts because they were more durable than others; now it looks like they have made an effort to make all of their clothing look like garbage with rips and whatnot. I went into one the other day and didn't even recognize any of the clothes in there; I thought I was shopping in a thrift store.

Clothes are clothes. Wear a $15 t-shirt and some dependable old $25 jeans and you're good to go. In the summer-time, sub the jeans with some $10 khaki shorts.

Thats weird that people are complaining that AmberCrombie is the only 'cool' clothing. Where I'm from, Ohio--defitely not a high fashion state--Ambercrombie is defintely no longer seen as cool, especially with people 18-25.

I have a cousin that has to wear name brand clothes. She has to go tanning, she has to have an image.

It's quite sad.

She's young, very pretty, has brains, but she waste her money on this crap just to look good. She's got a boyfriend so it's not like she has to impress the rest of the world. I don't get it.

She work retail, and says she loves it. I have never in my life hear anybody ever say that. Those are like forbidden words. "I love retail" gahhh

I think she just likes it because it give her discounts on "name brand clothes".

It's quite pathetic and a very unattractive attitude IMO.

How is having a job someone likes along with feeling good about the clothes you are wearing an "unattractive" attitude. This is simply turning into a jealously thread. If you have the money and like the clothes, who cares what people buy.

Abercrombie makes very high quality thick clothing. I used to like that, and I liked the brand. Not many people in my school wore it because there wasn't one around, it felt nice. Then everyone started wearing it (one 'cool' kid wore a shirt that i already had one day!).. anyway, this was 3 years ago. I got some shirts onsale online a couple years ago, but that was the last. Just too expensive. Structure, AE, and Old Navy have good sales where I can just get plain nice shirts. (I go for the smaller/fitted/stretch shirt no more baggy XL crap). Gap is nice too.

None of my shirts I wear have logos on them, but they're all from "consumer whore" stores. Some of you kids who worry about that stuff need to let it go and worry about other things. :) Because if you're not one group, you're the other one--the "I'm a consumer whore rebel and I will not waste my money! Instead I will be like all the other ones trying to be cool by rebeling and wearing off brand clothes".. ;)

I agree. I think there clothes suck. Why the fvck would i want ripped pants. I do a good enough job on my own ripping my pants. The only thing i will buy from them are shorts or perhaps pants if i like a particular style. But it has nothing to do with the name. I usually pull off any visible labels anyways. There shirts are made for midgets, they come up to like the top of my belly button. WTF? Make them for people with a friggin torso. At the college i went to everbody was a carbon copy of an abercrombie model or AE. Its nauseating. I'm like wtf are you doing you ahve no style. Just weearing all of one brand is not a style. You suck! Learn how to dress yourselves people.

I need to stop hating.

Because she is always complaining about not having money. She cant go anywhere, like to the movies with a bunch of us because she doesn't have the money. I asked her if she wanted to come to a incubus concert once and she didn't have the money, but she paid for tanning that week. Tickets were practically the same amount of her tanning session.

She's more worried about what she will look like next week if she doesn't go tanning or buy some new clothes this week.

I wear name brand stuff too, but my whole wardrobe doesn't consist of it. She's all about image, and its fake. She's fake.

I hate their company image, and the way of life they represent
