Exactly! Any Pats fan who starts spewing the "Give us the Lombardi trophy now" garbage based on one game is a moron.

How about two games?
Heh heh...

Two games does not a season make.

How about three games in which they scored 38 points each and limited the opposing team to 14 or less?

In 2004 the Steelers went 15-1 and absolutely dominated the Patriots and Eagles, ending their undefeated runs during the regular season. The Patriots destroyed the Steelers in the AFC Championship game and went on to win the Superbowl. Shit can change from the regular season to the post. But if you guys want to set yourself up for a fall, it'll only hurt worse should that pavement hit you in the face.

Oh and FYI, I'm not sure how proud the Pats can be of their wins vs the teams they've played. Yes, two of the teams made it to the playoffs, but this year those three teams combined records is 2-7, and one of those wins was supplied by the Jets and that's because they had to play an also winless Miami... Be proud, be very proud.

Arguments citing the opponents record are inconclusive at this point since the Pats account for 1/3 of their record. Awfully small sample size there.

Despite being a Pats fan, its important to realize there is a LOT of football left to be played, nothing is guaranteed.

I agree with you about the playoffs but it's just plain idiocy not to recognize how far above everyone else the Pats are. If you have watched the games they haven't been winning, they have been all out dominating teams, one of which was a top5 pick to go to the super bowl. I am a cowboys fan and let me tell you I am not looing forwards to week 6.

Of course you don't give them the trophy right now but if you don't make them your favorite to win it you haven't been watching any football this season.

Oh, and if you really want to talk about people who know football, look at Vegas. Look at the spread in their last game, 16 points. The last time the spread was that big this early in the season was over 10 years ago. And they covered it plus some, that's just ridiculous.

Yes, you're right, but my argument still stands until those extra games are played and prove it otherwise. Right now I'm more impressed with the Colts going 3-0 considering 2 of the wins came on the road to teams with current winning records. The Pats would still be #2 in my book. Right now we can only look at what each team has done in each of their current games, speculating head to head simply doesn't work, otherwise the Colts would be repeat champions as noone gave anyone else a chance in 2005.

edit: Actually I took Romo in the 6th roud and on ESPN he has 1 more point than Brady so far this season (71 vs 70).

It wasn't completely autodraft. Just for me since I didn't show up for the draft.

We're getting there!

Four games in which they dominate yet again, Randy with 100+ yards and 2 TDs?

Man, this just isn't fair. The Patriots were caught CHEATING! I hate how they are going out and blowing out every opponent. It makes cheaters look good.

Oh well, things like this have a way of evening out. I fully expect the Pats to get their comeuppance.

Time to check some Faiders boards again. On the Viking boards fans seem genuinely happy that Moss has found success again. Faider fans, on the other hand, just drop a lot of f-bombs :D

And the patriots get the Niners #1 pick this year, which is looking like a top 10.

You cant beat them, you cant contain them, you can only lube yourself up so much and hope it doesnt hurt.

Again, it wasn't a big deal. It has been dealt with. Just drop it.
