Heh. Regardless of his personal sentiments, he panders to racism-

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/05/20/AR2010052003500.html

There is, of course, the letter he wrote to the editor of a Kentucky newspaper expressing the same sentiments way back in 2002, so it seems that he probably felt pretty strongly about it. Letters to the editor aren't usually passing brain farts or careless offhand remarks.

Obviously, he's tried to distance himself from his own remarks after the fact, but everybody knows what he said & what he meant, where his sympathies lie. He's not really fooling anybody who doesn't want to be fooled, and neither are you.

You really are one of the dumbest posters around here. There is zero evidence of racism from Rand Paul.

Dude, you're full of shit. There is absolutely fucking nowhere in that piece saying that he panders to racism.

I oppose the whole Civil Rights Act of 1964 and I'm a black African negroid for fuck's sake.

 You're dealing with a fringe lunatic hack who spouts the same BS over and over. He will probably come back with the same BS. You owned him 😀

Yeh, it's perfectly obvious that supporting racist actions isn't pandering to racists, at least not in the bizarro world of denial way out there on the right fringe.

It just has to be something else, just because you want it to be.

Colbert nailed it perfectly with his comments about Rick Parry, the perfect Repub presidential candidate who doesn't exist. Repubs want him, and they need him desperately, and some even think that Rand Paul might be him. Sad to say, their quest will take on the combined qualities of a train wreck, a clown car, & just another ship of fools when their presidential primary begins in 2016.

Your mind must be a terrible place to live. Have you considered the idea that it may have been poisoned, or that there's something organically wrong with it?

Still waiting for your proof that Rand Paul is racist you scumbag.

Love the racists in this thread. The same people saying Paul is a racist shouldn't have any problem with a NWACP, or a WET (white entertainment television), White Scholarships, etc.

The whole racism bullshit in this thread is nothing more than thread jacking by shills who can't even point to anyone in the Democrat party that isn't a lying two faced phony. They know that anyone Democrats bring forward bought and paid for candidate but they like to imagine/fool themselves that the phony cellophane of "Hope, Change", etc progressive bullshit will be real this time around. They are literally just as terrible compared to neo-con's and bible-thumpers pretending their candidates represented a desire for smaller government, free and open markets, greater security of individual liberties etc. In the end they are just voting for the same old, same old and that brings about the childish claims without any real proof outside of their feeble views.

Lemme call a wahmbulance for you, OK?

I said that Rand Paul pandered to racist sentiment, and that he likely has such sentiments himself, based on writings he made prior to becoming a politician. I provided verifiable links as well.

If you won't believe his own words, what will you believe, other than the voices in your head?

All that applies, of course, only if you believe that racist businessmen should be prevented from discriminating on the basis of race. You do believe that, I trust? Or not?

Here's your big chance to define yourself & what you see as racism. Go for it.

Two wahmbulances.

Go ahead- tell us that the Repub presidential primary won't be another freakshow from the base of the party lined up against the inevitable big money candidate(s). Given the usual fringe whack litmus tests of the primaries, it's getting harder & harder to find a candidate who can win there yet still not be too nuts to carry the general election, don't you think?

That isn't racism. It's not my fault you're too stupid to understand the importance of private property rights.

You're a scumbag liberal who pulls the race card when he is losing the debate and this is typical of you.

So you define racism in a way that allows business owners to discriminate on the basis of race w/o being racist, at least in your own mind. Which would, of course include things like "whites only" lunch counters, correct? I mean, it *is* private property, even though it's supposedly open to the public. Well, only the white public, according to you. And it wouldn't be racist, of course, because you refuse to recognize that it is.

You're special.

It's private property and scumbags like you don't have the right to tell private business owners who they can serve. Gotta love how you didn't respond to Anarchists point, you just ran away.

So if Christians come onto my private property, into my business, then I have the right to refuse them service....

:colbert: interesting....

By the law, declared constitutional by the SCOTUS, such discrimination is illegal because it's racist. So, in the legal sense & in the sense that the rest of the country understands racism, you just declared yourself & Rand Paul to be racists.

Glad we finally cleared that up.

I don't understand your anti-Christian bigotry, why don't you say something about the other religions?

You have the right to refuse them service because it's private property but it would cost you customers though and how would you know if they're Christians?

We already know you're a racist. Love how you ignore private property rights.

At one point it was also the law that black people had to sit at the back of the bus and it wouldn't surprise me if you supported that.

For a person with a history of stupid posts, this one may actually take the trophy home. Considering Jhhnn is against allowing discrimination based on race from everything he just posted, and you are against the laws that made such discrimination illegal and support candidates who are against the laws that make discrimination illegal, you have just gone beyond stupid for even you. And to quote a good post from someone else, "you are so profoundly stupid that when you post, Jesus casts the first stone."

I'd know because I'd ask them. Thanks for clearing that up...

\might even put up a little sign outside my storefront that said: No Christians Allowed...

That's because the bus was private property & the racist owners decreed that blacks had to sit at the back. It's the same rationale you expressed in post #60. Some State govts defended that "right".

Back then, racists wore their creed proudly, believing in the superiority of the "white race". They still believe the same things, but they have to hide it, pretend it's something else, that racist actions aren't really "racist" because they spring from a different rationale. That's because the rest of the country rejects racist ideology, and have made racist actions illegal in most instances.

Modern racism is just less blatant and less honest, framed in a variety of terms. Some are old frames, like "property rights" & "states' rights", while other newer ones have been developed to convey the same ideas. Even in drag, Jim Crow is Jim Crow, and isn't fooling anybody who doesn't want to be fooled.

Modern racists often don't have the conviction of old, but they fail to fully reconcile their emotional nature with their moral code. On a rational level, they often believe racism is wrong, but they still harbor deep seated emotional racist sentiments. Denial ensues & is exploited by charlatans like Rand Paul. He helps them redefine "racist" as "not racist", thus avoiding introspection & meaningful resolution of inner conflict. He helps them to feel good about themselves. As a manipulative psychopath, he just sees them as Chumps 4 Life, incapable of escaping the conditioning that he & others like him provide.

So you don't like Christians but you're alright with others who might get violent?

And they could just lie.

The leftwing scumbag arrives. Where did I ever support racism you moron?

Read my posts carefully, Private business has the right to discriminate because they own the property but they shouldn't do it because it's wrong.

When you accept racist arguments, you accept racist results.

Wrong. Should we arrest all the racists and lock them up?

Pretty miserable attempt at deflection.

We can, and do, prevent and punish racist action in many aspects of public life. It is right that we do so. In order for that to happen, we must reject racist rationales for racist actions.

That's inescapable.

Without Jhhnn's wisdom I would have never known people who believe in individual liberties are modern day racists. Says a lot about the history of it all, the founders are just the earliest American examples of hardcore racists dating back to the earliest of human history.

Wrong again. Racism is wrong but we shouldn't put people in jail for it.

So do you have a problem with a black guy saying no whites at his business?

Why not? Are you claiming that racist action doesn't rise to the level of reprehensibility requiring corrective action by the Govt of the People? That failure to apply corrective action didn't allow Jim Crow to flourish for 100 years? That it won't come back if we let it?

So do you have a problem with a black guy saying no whites at his business?

Yes. Your asking is just another attempt at deflection.

If they use violence then yes but if they just exercise free speech then no.

When you put racist property rights above civil rights, then racists will use govt to maintain their property rights with police action.

That's Jim Crow in one of his many guises.
