Rand Paul reversed his position on medical marijuana.

Like I said in another thread...

I'm not sure what to think about Rand, I don't like some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth. I'm not sure if he actually believes the shit he says, or he's saying it to get elected as a Republican. Either way, it's a turn off.

It's official: Rand Paul is not a libertarian.

He already had some views that were borderline at best, but there's no way you can be libertarian and not support drug legalization.

I'd like to hear his explanation for this policy shift. Seems like he is ditching his philisophical philosphy of libertarism for political expediency. I'm not a libertarian and never thought much of Rand Paul in the first place, but the evidence is sure streaming in that he is just another political hack.

Don't worry, he still thinks businesses should be allowed to not serve blacks still, right? That's still a libertarian position... right?

They believe black-owned businesses have the right to not serve whites, too, but I don't hear anyone bitching about that.

Yes, i'm sure whites would be broken up at the possibility that the numerous black owned businesses might not want their business.

The reporting was wrong and the AP is reporting it anyway. Rand Paul did not change his stance.

Your point?

My point is, if the majority is white and the majority of businesses are owned by whites they're not going to give a shit.

Go back to the pre-civil rights days where blacks where not welcomed at white owned businesses in the south. It's wasn't going to hurt white owned businesses to deny black patronage. In fact, it would have actually hurt white owned businesses to serve blacks because then you alienate all the racist white patrons.

What law caused a lot of businesses to offer services and support for customers who only speak Spanish?

Go back to the pre-civil rights days

No. The past is something to learn from, not live in. Society has evolved, that's a good thing.

Hypothetically speaking, if that one section of the Civil Rights Act was repealed, can you name ONE business that would refuse black customers?

Worse yet, there is still employment discrimination against blacks. Amazingly, businesses would rather hire a white felon than a black person with no criminal record

Ah, the free market, ain't it grand?

Wait a minute now, I thought we passed a Civil Rights Act decades ago, you telling me that it didn't wipe out racism? Insanity.

Of course not, we'd have to ship every conservative off to an island to do that.

What it did do was eliminate obvious racism.

Thanks for proving my point. I knew you'd have to dig deep to find something. Hell you dug deeper than even I thought you'd have to do.

What's ironic here is that this is in NY. :D:D

I live in the deep south, in TN specifically, and gasp, my boss is black, and female. Maybe the north isn't ready for private property rights. :D

No matter what the media tries to do, Rand Paul WILL BE THE NEXT SENATOR OF KENTUCKY. We The People will not let any other outcome happen.

How did i have to 'dig deep'? You're pathetic.

How do you extrapolate that just because racism in NY is bad that the South would somehow be better? That's like Sarah Palin taunting Obama voters by asking 'how's that hopey changey thing working for you', implying that she would have done a better job. Oh right, you're a libertarian so logic flies out the window with you.

ohnooooes, medical marijuana! Because even though we're facing the largest, most crony government within the last century, we still need our fake diseases to drug ourselves into oblivion!

Conservatives like the late Robert Byrd?

It did not even eliminate "obvious" racism, it eliminated institutionalized racism, and not even all of that.

LOL, look at your link? A neighborhood barbershop in Louisiana? That's digging deep.

How do you extrapolate that just because racism in NY is bad that the South would somehow be better?

That's your cross to bear, not mine.

BTW, you never answered, "What law caused a lot of businesses to offer services and support for customers who only speak Spanish?" Not that I was really expecting you to.

The drug war is a complete farce.
