I was wondering what are the differences of PC3 10666, 8500, 12800 etc.
The timings of the ram I recently purchased are G skill 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v pc3 10666, im looking for something faster thats compatible with my i5 2500k
You want 1.5 for Sandy Bridge, and probably Bulldozer/Intel 2011. Basically the lower the nm of the chip, the less voltage it can take before it fries. I'm picking up this here for my late spring/summer build. What about RAM voltages? I'm a bit confused. Some say 1.65 V and some say 1.5 V. I'm planning on possibly upgrading in the fall timeframe and I'd like to take advantage of Newegg's sale now, because I have a feeling RAM prices will be going up. I just don't know what specifically to get with respect to the voltages.
