RAM PRice is GOing up??? WHY???

So i am looking at the Price of Ram and stuff. and have come to realize that it' going way up almost 100% from a month ago???


what's up with that? another earthquake??? or is it simple econ law and demand???

I think it was so cheap there for a while because they had produced too much , now supply is going down, and prices are going up.

The chip manufacturers in Taiwan and Korea cut back on production BIG TIME. Less supply, same demand = higher prices.

SDRAM and DDR SDRAM were both selling below cost last month. Suppose it cost a manufacturer $10 to produce the memory and they sold it for $5. Very quickly you end up with manufacturers who need to raise prices! This type of situation has occured with memory, resulting in record losses for some companies. It was just too good (for the consumers) to last.
 

Demand went up, then supply followed, then the supply surpassed the demand, thus the rock bottom prices.
Because of prices the production or order fulfillment was cut.
Supply fell again, thus prices start to rise to meet the level of demand.

i am so glad i bought my Crucial Special Anandtech deal last month for $27, i checked today it was like Freaking $55
saw them on Newegg last nite for $50~ that's why i wondered!!!

sad about future systems though =(
