Raid help please

I'm trying to setup a computer with raid. This is my first time using it and i have a question. I have 2 equal hard drives and 2 cd-roms i need to run. I have 2 ide/ata slots. How should i configure the devices so i can run the hd with the on mobo raid (MSI PT880)?

Put the 2 CD-ROMs on their own channel (1 master, 1 slave) and the two hard drives on one channel (1 master, 1 slave)

i tried this and i still get can't find enough HD to use raid

Are your jumpers set correctly? You could try the 'cable select' setting or the 'master/slave' combination. You could also try them with a hard drive and CD-ROM on one channel (hard drive as master) and likewise on the other. Strange that it wouldn't work the way you have it.
