I've listened to him since I was in my teens, he was one cool old guy and I still can't undertake eating lunch without thinking of his show. RIP Paul, you will be missed.

Gotta agree, RIP Paul Harvey, whose signature line was now for the rest of the story. Well, after a very radio long career, this is the end of his story.

I may not have always agreed with his viewpoint, but his was an institution that lasted and lasted. And will probably never be equaled. One could always tell he loved what he was doing, that he died while his boots were still on is just another what we expected from Paul Harvey.

Is there any newscaster or radio commentator that had a longer career? A golden voice that never changed. One word, and you knew it was him.

I used to listen to his radio broadcasts all the time. IIRC, he was on at noon, so we'd listen during lunch...hard to believe that was almost 40 years ago...

God, I have not thought of that show for a LONG time. Sad to hear that he is gone. Many great memories listening to him with the great AM radio in my dad's truck.

There were at least two times, though, when the man stepped outside of his conservative persona that I will always remember.

In 1970, he came out against the Vietnam War on air, and in 1993 his "Rest of the Story" illuminated how US business interests, "down in the shadowy realms where U.S. foreign policy shakes hands with the devil," conspired to overthrow the legal ruler of Hawaii, Queen Liliuokalani.

Paul Harvey was and will always remain an American icon.

hearing his show reminds me of drivers ed. Our instructor would always make us listen to the show while we were doing our driving tests.

Do they even allow the radio to be on in a drivers ed car now days?
