I'm a non technical person. I also don't have a science background and dont understand volts/mhz etc...

Hence i cant/wont be able to overclock/play around with a stock 7870 on my own. I simply wish to get a 7870 which is already overclocked from the manufacturer factory...

Which 7870 version should I buy which is already overclocked ( core clock & memory clock ) by the manufacturer to it's full potential ?

I want to buy a 7870 version which is already running at it's maximum possible performance...!

Many thanks,

Rana.

We are talking about $300+ products, I suggest you reconsider. You should get familiar with overclocking utilities even if you don't want to overclock, you may run into situations where you will want to underclock or manually control the cooling fan. I understand your desire for simplicity but I urge you to at least consider using a temperature monitor. Overclocking is intimidating for non technical but the OC tools are very simple to use. Overclocking and monitoring tools can reveal potential issues with the card you get.

Do you have enough space in your case? Some 7870's are ~2" inches longer than the reference card.

Beside performance, temperatures and noise are also important. I would recommend Sapphire's card and the MSI a close second, provided it fits in your case.

thanks, u inspire me to read a bit about overclocking/underclocking etc which I shall do :)

It will be for a brand new setup and my case will mostly be either a lian pc q08 or a silverstone temjin tj04-e. I'm sure/hope both cases can fit in a really long size 7870 with ease.

I am looking forward to get a 7950. When will NV release a competitor from the 600 series in that range?

really hoping for price drops on the 7870, but 680s sold out so fast, don't think we'll see price drops until NV directly competes at this level or supply of 28nm gets better in general... :(

regardless, i'll be buying prior to may 15th (d3 release), either the 7850 or 7870, or NV if have anything on the table by then (i had a 7950 for a few days but returned it, glad I did seeing as it cost almost as much as the 680 lol)

is there ANY news/rumors on the gtx 660ti or 670 or whatever?
