Thank you! I ordered from NCIX but it was much more expensive than from newegg plus I was uncertain that I'd receive the card tomorrow so I cancelled and ordered from newegg.

I checked newegg earlier and it wasn't there so I figured it wasn't going to be available there at all today. So glad I was wrong.
 
What's a good company to buy from for ATI cards, Diamond, HIS, Sapphire, etc? Is there a particular one in terms of customer service/quality that sticks out?

My last 3 personal cards have been EVGA.
 
they're actually oos on all 3 3870's. 2 of the 3 show "in stock" until you try to order them. I knew I shouldn't have gone to the park with my daughter...damnit... she could have gone some other day!
 
New egg will not let you add this card to your cart. I am guessing they are sold out or do not have the card yet, even though their site indicates they do
 
sapphire is typically the "price leader", I would get one of the other 2 if you can. I have a sapphire x1950xt, the card has been great. However, I have been waiting 5 mos for my $30 mir to come in. I was warned by numerous people about their shady practices but bought it anyway.

You do understand that NCIX, while having a "presence" in Washington state, ships NO product from within the U.S. ALL of NCIX's product ships out of Canada. That's why the high shipping costs. And $15 for 3 day is terrible considering Newegg can manage the same thing on video cards for just $6 or thereabouts.
 
yeah, but newegg is oos and will almost certainly crank up the price once they get some...dammit DAAMIT, WHYYYYYY????

I think I'll go to best buy with my 10% off coupon today and see what I can rustle up.
 
I've never had the problem before of being unable to buy a $200 component because there weren't enough - it's like the iPhone was just released in nerd land. The 3850/70 are incredibly tempting, but I'm willing to wait a week before buying anything. I'm gonna need a new PSU too, so it's okay. Kinda...

i don't know if anybody noticed but if you check the outpost link on the first post, they're listing the 3870 for $230 not $280. though its the same price as the 3850 they list.
 
I must've got really luck when I ordered mine from newegg- thanks again to the person who pointed it out earlier in this thread!
 
shhhhh, op needs to change title to "hd3870 is 300+, nothing to see here". after we buy ours we can start our own thread...🙂

you are a bad person swtethan. The post I made earlier was in reference to your 3dmark06 score of 14500+. there were 31099 people with faster systems, I simply meant that I wanted one of those systems 🙂
