R9 Fury Cards go on sale...and gone

Looks like Newegg had them for about maybe a grand total of 5 minutes. All models sold out, looks like some early adopter taxes have been applied too. Didn't matter much apparently, as noted, they're all sold out already.

actually had one in my cart at newegg and when I went to complete the sale they took it out of my cart.

I'm going to take a wild guess that they didn't exactly ship a lot of volume with this launch. That, or the demand for $650 video cards is significantly higher than I expected.

TechPowerUp reviewer said there will be limited availability. Supposedly AMD had a hard time getting review samples out on time due to lack of cards.

I'm thinking that 30,000 only rumor may have some truth to it.

Another fake launch. no cards to be found back orders are already projecting mid July at the earliest. Haven't owned Nvidia since I got My 9700 Pro but I am about ready to change. anyone hear that loud thud? That was AMD once again dropping the ball.

In a month or so. That's the caveat to that. But I bit, so I will report back if it gets cancelled or not. Or if I decide to cancel and pick up a 980ti instead.

The price on the page is corrected and the shipping time now says 5-7 business days.

TD called to verify my address to complete processing of the order, so it seems like it will go through.

A person on reddit said they called to ask if the price would be honored and they said yes.

If I end up getting this card for $550 I will be pleased as punch.

GREAT deal if they honor the price.

Knowing TigerDirect all of those orders will probably be cancelled or they will end up with the air cooled version.

Just got called for cc verification, order now shows "Credit Card Verification Done. Your order is in process at our warehouse" so will see. TD does have all their Fury X for sale and most show "3-5 days processing" at $649-$679.

My order now says "on hold, please call" and I've been on hold for about 20 mins.

Not looking good!

On hold behind you...presumably...but I hope you've been helped by now.

EDIT: Pricing Error confirmed. Order on hold until ???

I chose to cancel my order. Time to start shopping for a 980ti, I guess.

I called and they re-confirmed my shipping address. Not sure why I had to do that twice. The status is now backordered.

Not sure how long I'm going to give it before I cancel and get a 980ti..

The Fury X are all reference boards, right? Why are the prices (all from newegg) ranging from $649-$699 depending on brand?

Yeah, they are all reference boards, so, you are paying extra for pretty pictures on the box 😉
I suppose it is possible that some cards also come with more dongles or something.

Just check order again, now shows on hold and price is $679. TD should just cancel order on price mistake, not change invoice price after sending order confirmation email with lower price and customer placing call to confirm payment details.

Sneaky Tiger Direct at its best. :awe:

Really pathetic CS from them. Its quite sad how few vendors we have that can be relied on for pc components......I stick almost exclusively to amazon/newegg with pretty good results.

Pretty sad how much stock AMD had built up for this launch considering how late and overdue it is.

Mine says backordered and the price went up to 670.

Cancelled and ordered an evga 980ti. Tried to support the good guy but I am too weak willed.
